Yue Opera is a local opera with a short history and rapid development, which originated in Shengxian County, Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province at the beginning of this century. It is called "Yue Opera" because it originated in Yue State in the Spring and Autumn Period about 2,000 years ago.
At the early stage of its development, Peking Opera was first spread among rural people and was called "Xiaoge Class" or "Didu Class". At that time, Yue Opera was very simple, because it developed from folk rap. Later, it entered Hangzhou, Shanghai and other parts of China. Up to now, after years of development, it has become the most important drama in China, which is second only to Peking Opera. Its theme comes from fairy tales, literary classics and historical stories. The voice of Yue Opera is soft and beautiful, and it is easy to learn. Different voices from different schools were developed, which led to the emergence of a large number of fans. The famous and touching Chinese violin concerto "Butterfly's Love" is based on Yue Opera. The Yue Opera film of the same drama won a music award at an international film festival. The male roles in Yue Opera are always played by women, and the characters are particularly charming and chic.
