There are a large number of outstanding writers in Northeast literature and art, among which there are many famous writers in the history of modern literature in China, such as Zhao Shuli, Luo Feng, Gong Mu, Seck, Bai Lang, Yan Wenjing, Liu, Xihong, Zhou, Shi Songbei, Zhang Dongchuan, Song Zhi, Ge Baoquan, Ren Jin and Ma Jia.
After the founding of New China, Northeast Literature and Art was renamed as Literature Series, Literature Monthly, Virgin Land and Red Flag of Literature and Art successively. Many famous writers and poets who grew up in the 1950s started here. For example, Yang Daqun, Haoran,,,, Feng Li, Chen Gui,, Yang Mai, A Hong,, Li Huiwen, Li Jingxin, Hu Fangjing and Cui Dezhi.
Influenced by the Cultural Revolution, the publication was closed as soon as it was renamed Yalu River. Later, it was renamed Liaoning Literature and Art. After the Cultural Revolution, the publication was renamed Yalu River, which trained a large number of outstanding writers, such as Jin He, Gao, Hu Xiaohu, Hu Shizong, Xu Guangrong, Dali,,,,, Li Zhanheng, Xie, Ma Qiufen, Yu Decai, Lin Heping, Sun Huifen, Liu Yuan and so on. In order to encourage literary creation, the publication started to set up Yalu River Literature Award from 1980. In 2005, the selection of Yalu River Poetry Award and Novel Award attracted wide attention from authors and readers.
