Performance introduction:
From June 1934 to June 1936, the Chinese Red Army of Workers and Peasants carried out an unprecedented Long March. With extraordinary perseverance, the Red Army overcame the encirclement of hundreds of thousands of reactionary Kuomintang troops, crossed the inaccessible snowy mountains and grasslands, experienced a journey of about 25,000 miles in ten provinces, and finally reached its destination-northern Shaanxi. 1965, in order to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the victory of the Red Army's Long March, Xiao Hua, who had participated in the Long March, reviewed his real experience in the Long March and completed 12 epic with vivid images and sincere feelings. Subsequently, composers Chen Geng, Sheng Mao, Tang Ke and Qiu Yu chose 10 to create a group of songs, which described 10 interlocking battle life scenes respectively, and skillfully integrated folk tunes from various regions with the tunes of traditional Red Army songs, and finally merged into a large-scale vocal suite with distinctive theme, rich content, novel form and unique style.
Song of the Long March: It is divided into farewell, breaking through the blockade, Zunyi meeting shining brilliantly, crossing Chishui for four times, crossing the Dadu River, crossing the snowy grassland, arriving in Wuqi, Zhu Jie, good news spreading frequently, and general assembly division.
