During his ten years in Huada, Xie Chunchi worked in the Academic Affairs Office of Huaqiao University, and successively edited various literary and cultural publications such as Journal of Huaqiao University (Natural Science Edition), Teaching in Huada, and Literature in Huada. He personally integrated into the culture of Huada at that time, and had a deep feeling and understanding of the campus culture in the early days of the reopening of Huada and in the middle and late 1980s.
10 June 16, at his home full of books in Yueyang Xili, Xiamen, he and I talked about the campus culture of Huada in the 1980s. Xie Chunchi's eyes lit up and he was very happy. He said excitedly: "At that time, the literary atmosphere and campus culture of Huada could be compared with other universities."
In the early 1980s, cultural revival and prosperity generally appeared in colleges and universities all over the country, and college students generally had literary enthusiasm. Poetry clubs, reading clubs, literature clubs and debate competitions are very popular on university campuses. At that time, although there were only science and engineering departments in Huada, such as physics, chemistry and civil engineering, these science and engineering students also loved literature and were equally keen on literary creation, and the campus culture was extremely active. Founded the newspaper "Huada Literature".
1986, with the support of the school, Xie Chunchi founded a newspaper, Huada Literature, which published the literary works of college students all over the country. At this time, while Peking University helped Huada to set up the Chinese Department, Professor Xie Mian, who came to teach in China, gave a unique "inaugural speech" for the literary circle of Huada. Contributions from all over the country flew in like snowflakes, and Huada became famous for a while.
Xie Chunchi also held "Huada Literature Week" in Huayuan. For a whole week, with the active participation of teachers and students, he carried out various literary and artistic activities such as poetry exhibitions, speeches, film and television viewing, recitation and symposiums. "The activity funds for Literature Week are allocated by the Academic Affairs Office to 300 yuan, which has not been used up." Xie Chunchi said with a smile. The remaining part was later used as the editing fund of "Huada Literature Series" to publish Mr. Hua's own literary works. Up to now, in Xie Chunchi's home, there are still two books in the series: Spring in Huaqiao University and Swimming through the Mountains.
During his ten years in Huada, Xie Chunchi lived very comfortably. Recalling this period of time, he proudly said, "During my ten years in Huada, I did all the things related to culture. At that time, because there were a group of students who loved literature and a group of young teachers who loved literature as much as I did, the literary atmosphere of Huada was almost comparable to that of other universities. Especially the literary week activities, I think it is rare in colleges and universities all over the country until now. " Even after 1989 left Huada, Xie Chunchi was not completely decoupled from the campus culture of Huada. 1990 1 1 On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Yuehua University, Xie Chunchi, who just left Huada, was invited to compose and rehearse the large-scale song and dance Ode to Huada. On the 35th anniversary of1995, it was Xie Chunchi who wrote the preface and conclusion for the celebration party.
On the 40th anniversary of the school anniversary in 2000, Xie Chunchi wrote a recitation poem "University where blood is thicker than water" specially for Huada, which touched countless adults in China when it was played with music at the school anniversary party.
