When the weather is beautiful and the wind is urgent, the howl of the ape seems to contain infinite sorrow. This island is a white beach, and only Sha Ou turns around from time to time. Endless leaves, surging Yangtze River rolling in. When I left Wan Li, I lamented that I was often adrift, old and sick, and boarded the platform alone in the cold autumn. Things are hard, the hateful autumn frost dyed my sideburns red, and I was down and out, so I had to put down this sad wine cup.
This poem was written by Du Fu in Kuizhou in the second year of Dali (767). The bleak autumn is vividly written by the poet, and the emotions aroused are even more touching. This is not only because of the natural autumn, but also because of the poet's strong emotional color for the autumn of life.
