How did Tai Zhengxiao's singing style come into being?

When it comes to the appreciation of pop music, I have no say. I pay more attention to Tai Zhengxiao's experience, but I haven't studied his singing style. I wonder if I can give you the advice you want.

How should this problem be defined? Should I say which songs he was influenced by since childhood, or should I say his singing style throughout his singing career? Is it his vocal characteristics or his musical style?

There is a saying in the 34th issue of Contemporary Music in 2000: Tai Zhengxiao, who grew up in Hongkong, listened to many China people's favorite music since he was a child, including Cantonese opera and Cantonese old songs, and earlier works by Samuel Hui, Alan Tam and Jacky Cheung. He loved to listen to them when he was a child. These music grew up with him until he went to study in Taiwan Province Province. Therefore, Tai Zhengxiao's music is easily recognized by China people and is very popular in China.

Maybe we can study what music was the most popular in Hong Kong in the 1970s and 1980s, and get a general idea of what songs he was listening to. When he was a child, his father often played vinyl records of old mandarin songs of Qingshan and Yao Surong. Samuel Hui's Cantonese songs and the Beatles' English songs have a profound influence on him. He was exposed to beautiful poems when he was in high school. His first creative composition "Ode to Kindness" was a collaboration with the choir pianist Chen Xiaowan, which was merged into a group of lush paths.

When I was a college student in Kaohsiung Medical College, Taiwan Province, I sang in a folk western restaurant two or three nights a week, mostly Cantonese songs, which were very popular. At school, my classmates and I organized a band and sang mostly rock songs. 1988 participated in the first pop music competition and sang the first composition "Helplessness" and "Diary in My Heart", which were included in the winners' commemorative collection. The fresh rock style attracted people's attention.

Tai Zhengxiao's early voice is very different from his later voice. Among the songs that can be heard now, "nothing" is particularly obvious, and it is hard to believe that it was sung by one person at first. I don't know much about music, and I can't analyze why his voice is like this, so I have to think about the influence of singing rock. The helpless version that can be heard now is sung again in Rekindle Love Fire, and the first version is hard to find. I heard it once in Love Song at Midnight and marveled at the great difference between the two versions.

After signing a contract with Flying Butterfly for two years, Tai Zhengxiao finally released his first album "Ideal Boy" at the beginning of 1990. Although he was born in a rock band competition, the record still follows the popular love song route, and "Love me or leave me" has a good response. After August, the second album was released, which was not a big hit, but it was not a loss. 199 1 After graduating from college in, I was faced with the choice of life. I once went back to Hong Kong and got a forensic license. However, when I was obsessed with music and didn't know how to choose, I met Lin Linan because of the matchmaking of my previous works, and joined Lin Linan's "China Baby" studio to produce singles for singers such as, Peng, etc. Among them, Delphine Tsai's "Do I really love you?" In the album "Cheer for me" from August 65438 to August 0992, his singing has changed, which is close to the level when he became famous. Perhaps the experience of that time changed him and bid farewell to the simple campus life. This album also puts forward the concept of "lyric rock" that he has always liked for the first time.

In the beautiful years after 1993 joined Fumao, it is unnecessary to count his songs one by one. There are many factors that make a song popular. I never think it has been upgraded to a higher level at once. At that time, the music circle seemed to cover many Japanese songs, and "Find a word to replace it" accounted for the majority, compared with "Between Lovers", which was more popular. This is also an era of music prosperity. His melodious singing and highly recognizable voice created many classics. Some people say that his style is a stage before Arabian Nights and another stage after Love to Zero. I don't quite understand why. How did these two albums change so closely? However, this should be a more professional opinion, which can be believed.

After returning to zero, it seems that he will bid farewell to the series of digital love songs, but "Prisoner" has hit him. Maybe the songs in it are too different and not popular, but this should not be said to be a failed attempt. His style is very different in lovesickness. I heard that he went to America to record three times. It seems that from that album, he began to feel his unremitting pursuit of music perfection. However, it seems that luck has not favored him, and there are no more particularly popular songs.

Another hundred years later, songs with gospel concepts began to appear. Since then, it has opened up a world in another field, and achieved the perfect combination of gospel and popularity in many songs.

The sound of records in recent years may not be as mellow and loud as those in those years, but the sincere feelings involved are even worse. No matter how his style changes, "moving people with emotion" will continue.
