A poet in a wheelchair
Tian Zijun, a 27-year-old young woman from Tiandian Village, Tianjiadian Town, Yingcheng City, Hubei Province, was disabled by illness at the age of 3 and lost consciousness below the waist. She can only walk on a low bench, and has learned to make a fire, wash clothes and do all kinds of housework with her weak hands. She began to read How Steel was Tempered, Ordinary World and Tagore's poems. With amazing perseverance, she studied hard by herself, published dozens of poems and essays, and took good care of her disabled siblings.
