Lack of identity, unknown to outsiders
Cliff stone carving is an ancient stone carving art in China, which refers to calligraphy, statues or rock paintings carved on cliff walls. It has exquisite carving skills and rich historical connotation.
According to the records of Boluo County, there are more than 2,000 cliff carvings in Luofu Mountain. But because of the age, many stone carvings are hard to find. According to Tang Xiaowen, director of the Cultural Management Institute of Luofu Mountain Scenic Area Management Committee, there are about 230 cliff stone carvings in Luofu Mountain, which were listed as provincial-level cultural relics protection units in Guangdong on 1989.
Tang Xiaowen introduced that the stone carving has a long history, and the oldest known stone carving of longevity sword was in the second year of Song Dynasty (AD 1050), pointing out that Guangdong Prison and Doctor Taichang had no choice. The existing "Luofu" stone carving with the largest font has a height of one person, which was carved in the Song Dynasty (A.D. 1 179). In addition, Zhan Ruoshui, three famous ministers in Ming Dynasty, Qiu, a patriotic poet in Taiwan Province in Qing Dynasty, and countless other cultural celebrities have visited here.

Millennium literature, stone carving is no longer cold.
Bao introduced that in the past, Luofu Mountain was called "the first mountain in Lingnan", which was not only a mountain to meet water advocated by Taoism, but also an important node of the Maritime Silk Road in Lingnan. Since then, Buddhism has been introduced into southern China. With the southward movement of the national economic center, Zhu Neo-Confucianism and Neo-Confucianism came one after another in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and Luofu Mountain became a place where Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism intertwined, known as the "Cave of Lingnan". There are more literati and more natural stone carvings.
"The coldness of the cliff stone carvings in Luofu Mountain can be said to be the epitome of the coldness of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism." Bao said that the influence of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism in Luofu Mountain has been declining. After the reform and opening up, the development of Luofu Mountain and its relics in the local area is unsustainable, and the status of cultural holy land is gone forever, and the attraction of cliff stone carvings naturally declines.
"To activate the use of the cliff stone carvings in Luofu Mountain, we must first revitalize Luofu Mountain." Bao Guo Tao said that it is suggested to hold more academic forums, publish more works, invite domestic and foreign media to publicize, and tell stories by VR and animation.

Make it an immersive product.
"The stone carvings left by literati in past dynasties actually belong to the material of public cultural brands." Wu Zhicai, director and professor of Guangdong Tourism Strategy and Policy Research Center of South China University of Technology, suggested that protection should be explored first, and then materials should be transformed into tangible products, such as stone poems, stories and relics into cultural and creative products; Finally, let the spiritual culture contained in the cliff stone carvings be combined with Huizhou city to form a large-scale cultural industry gathering area.
"To tell you the truth, a stone carving has a long history and is a stone carving. It is a traditional tourist attraction and must create a cultural product with an immersive experience. " Wu Zhicai said that if we can tell the story behind the cliff stone carvings well, what we can show them, play with and buy will be promising in the future.
Wu Zhicai said that only by telling the story of stone carving well can we form a strong cohesive force and a relatively complete chain. At the specific operational level, Huizhou's previous historical and cultural trails, greenways and other products are all grasping hands. Wu Zhicai said that it is necessary to hold more cultural activities, build an industrialization model, build an IP brand culture and form a highland of cultural consumption. "It is suggested that the role of the government, non-governmental organizations and social organizations should be brought into play, so that the stone carving culture can have a relationship with ordinary citizens and create cultural consumption products that both host and guest like."
Focusing on the present, we should learn from the past.
Luofushan Cliff Stone Carving
Text/He Wenqi
The ancients carved historical events, psychological activities, poems and songs on stones, hid them in the Louvre and left them for future generations. They are not only the totem of my spiritual home, Luofu Mountain, but also the source of power that drives me to overcome difficulties again and again in my work.
Cliff stone carving, also known as cliff stone carving. According to the "Mu Chuan", "it rose to the mountain of Mao, that is, the tree of Huai". This is the earliest stone carving record in China, which has been over 3000 years. Cliff stone carvings flourished in the Tang and Song Dynasties and continued until the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
The beauty of the Louvre makes people look up and down, so it is necessary to carve stones and leave traces to show elegance. Taoist Ge Hong, writer Su Shi, philosophers Zhan Ruoshui and Pang Song, politicians Ye Qiu, painters Xie Lansheng and Huang Peifang, social activist Li, and countless officials, literati and tourists all wrote their "personal signatures" on the rocks all over the peaks and valleys.
Cliff stone carvings in Luofu Mountain are an important part of ancient Guangdong literature and calligraphy art, which has important reference value for us to understand and master the culture and development of Luofu Mountain. In terms of quantity, more than 230 problems have been found so far; In terms of calligraphy style, seal script, official script, regular script and cursive script are all available; From the specification point of view, some see the big from the small, each has its own world, and some hammer the mountain to cut the wall and make big characters. Words, words, poems, essays, or notes, or biographies, or fu are all eye-catching and of great research and protection value.
At that time, "Luo Fu was the best place to give lectures". Confucianism in Luofu Mountain once stood proudly on the top of the mountain because of Zhan Ruoshui, Pang Song and others, and it also became the proud cultural label of Hui Qi, the three religions of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism in Luofu Mountain. However, times have changed. Today, Luofu's Taoism is still represented by Xu Chong, Huanglong and Sulao, and Buddhism still takes Huashou, Nanlou and Xiang Yan as benchmarks, but there are few traces of Confucian history, which is regrettable. The author once found a stone tablet engraved with Pang Song's name in front of Huanglong Temple, and the contents of several crosses were indistinguishable. However, today's people are as blind as a bat and let them lie down and become stone steps. Ironically, in order to make a pilgrimage to this modern palace, the real historical sites have been trampled by tourists again and again.
Look, we should learn from the past now, and we can't do anything without the past. If the fault is not the tourists, who should be responsible? Who can make it see the light of day again How many monuments have been trampled like this? There are too many problems bothering me. The content on the stone tablet has gradually blurred, and the looming "Pang Bitang" will eventually be smoothed by time. Ma Junsheng, a scholar of the Republic of China, lamented when he visited Huanglong more than 100 years ago: "Look at that waste tile and wall, all over the floor. I miss people and can't help but feel the vicissitudes of life. The quintessence of the country has been lost and I can't bear to go. " Oh! I don't think so? Alas! Isn't that what we saw today?
"To save historic sites, we must first save people's hearts!" My heart is shouting. "Let's get started! Start with the excavation, arrangement and protection of cliff stone carvings! "
