What efforts have you made to avoid going to work?

Do you still remember the fear of being dominated by nails? Do you still remember the sudden concern from the boss in the fatal serial call? Do you still remember the greeting you received on Friday night, "No rush, just give it to me on Monday morning"?

I don’t know if you are like me. There will always be one or two (maybe 7, 8, 9?) moments a month when you have the urge to leave your job with one click.

Return all these dirty things to me, such as enabling the hand, closing the loop, and aligning the links! retreat! retreat! Now I just want to take advantage of this naturally sunny day, close my computer, take my beloved girl to the beach, and never come back to face this terrible job.

So, on that night when I was likely to be pissed off by my colleagues, I seriously thought about not going to work.

I asked myself five questions:

1. How much savings do I need to not go to work?

2. How much savings do I have now? How much passive income can these savings bring me?

3. How much do I spend every month in my current living situation?

4. If I suddenly lose my job, how long can my savings allow me to maintain my current living situation?

5. If I keep earning this salary, how much money will I still be able to earn when I retire?

After I checked all my bank cards, calculated my monthly bills, and even searched Baidu for retirement policies, I found that not working I still have a long way to go.

Looking at the table full of scratch paper, I thought, if I do this calculation every time, my scratch paper won’t be able to hold on. Why not make a little tool to remind me how far I am from achieving my goal of not working?

I told Teacher Xiaohua my idea, and we hit it off immediately and started our first cooperation ~ product

The final form of the gadget was the WeChat applet ( The specific reasons can be discussed in a separate article later. Let’s dig the hole first).

We decided to play with a homophonic meme and named our mini program "Duck who doesn't want to work", and because of this homophonic meme, we naturally regarded the duck as our mascot.

We set a deadline for the prototype document every day. After a week of "definitely tomorrow", we finally determined what functions this small program needs to have:

First of all, we I hope that this small program can check the retirement time, and how much money I can earn by working at the current salary level when I retire;

Secondly, we hope to see the current salary level. Savings can give us the time to lie down and become a carefree Sanhe master. Although this function was named f**k u money by me at the beginning, the * is not after all What a good word, we finally changed the name to "waste time";

In addition, due to some selfish reasons, we also added two interesting interactions:

What do you do after get off work: You can randomly choose the time to do what you want to do after get off work (originated from my colleague Juan Wang, who complains to me every day about not knowing what to do after get off work)

YaYa resignation letter: a weekly resignation tip, so that everyone can Let yourself go while working.

Finally, we all agree that holidays should be given a sense of ceremony, so we want to take a look at the number of days until the next holiday.

After meeting deadlines several times, I finally completed a simple and rough product prototype, adding all the features we liked. Design

I hope our design style is youthful, cute, and full of joy (preferably colorful black, cross out this sentence). After all, going to work sucks already and I need something cute to bring me back.

After repeated adjustments and polishing, and comparing the sixth version of the homepage, we unanimously chose the version you see now (we really can’t make it even if we make a few more sets) ~

I don’t need to explain much, it’s all in the picture. Development

The division of labor between Xiaohua and I is that she will be responsible for the design and I will write the code, so after finishing the UI draft, the pressure came to me (after all, I kept thinking like a storm every day: The picture is ready Is the picture ready? Is the picture ready?

Looking at the fancy interface, I sighed that our mini program was so cute, but also felt that cuteness comes at a price, and writing this front-end code was too laborious. I even suspected that I had dug a hole for myself. I had to finish writing the interface I wanted to add while crying.

In the eyes of most people, code is boring, but in those half months, I felt like I had a shot of chicken blood, and I was immersed in it every day. The entire development process went very smoothly. With the hand speed I have developed as a "keyboard warrior" for many years, the code for the entire small program was completed in less than half a month.

After "Don't Want to Work Duck" was launched, we shared it with our friends, and it was recognized and liked by many people.

We decided to continue operating and maintaining our little duck, and hope that our little duck can comfort everyone in this troubled world and temporarily heal every migrant worker who doesn't want to go to work.

This is the story of how I developed a small program because I didn’t want to go to work. It can be regarded as my effort to not go to work, and I hope to share it with you.
