The acropolis has a new meaning of rain and dust, and the guest house is green.

The two poems, "Weicheng is raining and the guest house is green and willow is new in color", are from the Tang Dynasty poet Wang Wei. Wang Wei, also known as Mo Shu, was a minister, painter and poet in the Tang Dynasty. His poetry works have sincere feelings and far-reaching artistic conception, and are especially good at depicting landscapes and pastoral scenery, and are known as "Shi Fo". In this song "Send Two Envoys to Anxi", Wang Wei described the morning scene of the Acropolis with delicate brushwork. The first sentence "It rains in Weicheng, but the dust is light" and "It rains in Weicheng" makes the dust settle and the air moist and fresh. Light Dust vividly depicts the scene where rain moistens the ground and dust is washed away. The second sentence is "Guest House is green and new", and "Guest House" refers to the post office, where friends are about to leave; "Green" and "new" describe that the color of willow trees is more vivid after the rain, as if it had a new breath. These two poems not only depict the scenery, but also incorporate the feelings of parting. In ancient times, willow was often used as a symbol of parting, because "willow" and "stay" are homophonic, implying nostalgia and reluctance when leaving. Wang Wei skillfully expressed his farewell to his friends through the image of willow. At the same time, Wang Wei also expressed his blessing and concern for his friends' future journey in his poems. Although parting is sad, Wang Wei hopes that his friends can have a safe journey and reach their destination smoothly. This kind of affectionate blessing and concern makes this poem not only a poem depicting scenery, but also a farewell poem full of human feelings. Generally speaking, Wang Wei's Farewell to Yuan Twenty Shores Xi has become a classic for expressing feelings of parting with its vivid description, profound implication and sincere feelings. Among them, "Weicheng is rainy and dusty, and the guest house is green and willow-colored" is even more popular and has been passed down through the ages.
