Exodus 33:23 Then I will take my hand away. You can only see my back, but you can't see my face. "
Moses was brought to the pinnacle of loving God.
What is the basis of God's promise? We can only pray. And the Lord said to Moses, I will do as you ask. "(section 17) In this way, the God who showed his grace to people really conquered Moses completely, so that there was a deep love in Moses' spirit. At that time, he longed to see God's presence with his own eyes. We can see one thing here. Moses' communication with God has reached such a deep level, but Moses has not seen the face of God. In chapter 24, Moses climbed to the top of the mountain and spent forty days in the clouds. We also know that he is face to face with God, but you know that God still hasn't appeared in the "cloud". He knows the glory of God, but he can't directly touch the glory of God. Now, the love in his heart is aroused again.
Moses said, "Let me see your glory." (18) God was not unwilling, but Moses did not have the conditions at that time, because the real salvation had not yet appeared. But God didn't want to break his servant's heart, so, "The Lord said, I will show all my kindness, pass by you and announce my name …" He said, "Look, there is a place with me, and you should stand on the rock. When my glory passes by, I will put you in the hole in the rock and cover you with my hand. I will take back my hand until I pass by, so that you can see my back, but not my face. (Verses 19, 2 1-23) In this passage, God mentioned "the rock". God did this not by accident, but for a reason. God said that he would put Moses in the cave of the rock, that is, put him in the rock and cover him with his hand. When we break bread, the song "He Hides My Soul" that we like to sing very much comes from here. God also said, "You can't see my face, because people can't live if they see my face." (v. 20) This is a very serious matter.
Looking back, we notice that Moses did two things, both of which touched God's heart. But because Moses is not qualified, God is not unwilling to promise him, but can't. The first of these two things is that Moses asked him to take the blame for Israel. As we can see from the following, God has agreed. God promised silently, but God could not promise clearly, because Moses was not qualified to replace Israel, because he was also a descendant of Adam. Although he has not committed the crimes committed by the Israelis, he is not qualified and not qualified. Secondly, he wants to see the face of God, which is the same principle. God is not unwilling to let him see, but he is not qualified to see God. But thank God, God put him in a stone. What is a rock? In the words of the New Testament, we also clearly see that God has been pointing a stone at Christ. God seems to show us some historical records of this matter. In fact, God has been revealing Christ, just as he revealed Christ through the curtain of revelation before.
We thank and praise God. Before the world was created, Christ was known by God. So in the Old Testament, God silently revealed to Christ. In the New Testament, God clearly revealed Christ. All of us have received undeserved grace because of Christ, so we can only bow our heads and worship and thank him. -Wang, The Man Who Released Me-Notes on Exodus
