Activity goals:

1. Understand the job responsibilities of the traffic police and understand their hard work.

2. Learn to perform boldly.

3. By observing the pictures, guide the children to describe the content of the pictures.

4. Try to express your wishes in more complete words, and be willing to communicate boldly.

Activity preparation:

Wall chart (wall chart No. 30 in the first volume of the upper class)

Activity process:

1. Inspire children to talk about their parents Occupation, where they work. For example: My father is a doctor and treats patients in the hospital.

Children, before going to class, the teacher will ask you a question first. Do you all know what your parents do? (Raise your hand to answer)

Today, the teacher will introduce you to a new friend, his name is Xiaoyong. Today, we are telling the story of Xiaoyong’s father, which leads to the story “He is My Dad”.

2. Use wall chart form to tell the story completely.

Question:

①How many characters are there in the story? Who are they?

②What does Xiaoyong’s father do? How did the children know?

3. Tell the 13th paragraph of the story.

Question: Why doesn’t mom let Xiaoyong call him daddy?

4. Narrating the 49th paragraph of the story

Question: How many times did Dad step off the podium in one go? Who did you help? (twice, blind uncle and old lady). How does it help?

5. Continue telling the story in paragraph 1011

Question: What did Xiaoyong say proudly?

6. Now that the story is over, the teacher wants to ask the children to come up and play the characters in the story. Let’s be traffic police together, okay?

Questions and performances:

(1) How does dad direct traffic? Invite the children to come up and play daddy.

(2) How did dad help his blind uncle? Invite two children to come up.

(3) How did dad help grandma? The teacher plays the role of an old lady and invites a child.

7. Introducing the responsibilities of the traffic police

Now, we know that the traffic police has the role of directing traffic, so in addition to this job responsibility, what other roles does the traffic police have? (Raise your hand to answer)

8. Xiaoyong’s father is a traffic policeman. He has to direct traffic on the busy road, and his work is very hard. If you have the chance, go and see where your father works, and make up a short story for everyone, okay?

Reflection on the activity:

After classroom practice, I think this activity has the following advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages:

1. The introduction link is reasonably designed and close to children’s life experience, making it easy for children to enter the curriculum.

2. When telling a story for the first time, use a complete narration combined with a wall chart to attract young children. The narration voice is clear and engaging.

3. When telling the story for the second time, the language introduction is better, such as "increase the challenge", etc.

Disadvantages:

1. The goal design process failed to reflect the characteristics of language activities and was unreasonable. This is the most important shortcoming.

2. When using the flipchart for the second time, it is more troublesome to switch the moving images back and forth and overlap them, making the children look more confused. It is best to use the first form.

3. Due to a lack of understanding of children’s language development abilities, during the stock market question session, social self-questions were lower than the abilities of young children, resulting in the activity progressing too quickly.

4. During the performance, the props were not adequately prepared.

In short, after this class, I have greatly improved my understanding of how to design language activities, and I also learned a lot of experience from the teacher’s comments.

The next time I teach a class, I will definitely consider every detail of the activity carefully and strive to make greater progress!
