According to the report of Wangjiaba Hydrological Station, the water level of Wangjiaba rose to the warning line of 27.5 meters on July 17, which greatly exceeded the guaranteed water level. At about 8: 30 am on July 20, Wangjiaba decided to open the floodgates for the safety of more people. According to the report, we know that this is also the16th flood discharge since Wangjiaba was completed. In order to ensure more lives and property, the people of Wangjiaba once again played the spirit of "everyone builds a small family". Mengwa flood storage area covers 7 townships with a permanent population of more than 2,000. Before the floodgate was opened, Wangjiaba people actively responded to the party's call and evacuated to safety overnight. From the interview videos of local reporters, we know that the people of Wangjiaba have become accustomed to such things as opening floodgates and releasing water. I deeply remember an old couple saying in an interview: Who doesn't feel bad when the crops are gone? But when people leave, there is nothing. Seeing the uncontrollable sadness here, my eyes gradually became rosy. This is the spirit established by the Wangjiaba people from generation to generation, which is worth learning and singing by each of us.

The geographical location is special. Wangjiaba sluice at the intersection of Sanjiang River is extremely special. The downstream of Wangjiaba sluice is Mengwa flood storage area, and the upstream is Huaihe River source area. As the flood regulation area at the head of Wangjiaba sluice, Mengwa flood storage and detention area plays an important role in flood outbreak. When the water level rises above the normal level, Wangjiaba sluice has to open its floodgates to reduce the disaster losses in the upstream and downstream! After a lapse of 13 years, Wangjiaba people once again carried forward the spirit of giving up the family for everyone.
