Dad's childhood

I am always full of curiosity, longing and thinking about my father's childhood. From the stories of grandparents and parents, my father's hard and colorful childhood life and study gradually became clear in my mind. Dad was born in a village surrounded by mountains and rivers, with trees, cowboys and cows, and fragrant soil. The thatched cottage where dad was born has long been his memory. I only occasionally saw that kind of thatched cottage on a small foot in that village when I was visiting my grandmother. Growing up in a tall building, I can't understand life in a thatched cottage anyway.

Dad's childhood is a happy life with poor material conditions and poor living and learning environment. That life always makes me feel mysterious and curious. Dad was born in the early 1970s. It is said that there was a shortage of grain cloth at that time and it needed to be rationed. In other words, you can't buy it even if you have money. Don't say milk bread, that is, white flour steamed bread, and egg noodles are good meals that every child expects. The greatest pleasure of Chinese New Year is to have fish and meat, rice and noodles, and have a good meal. You can have a new pair of shoes or make a new dress. Upstairs and downstairs, lights and telephones, heating and air conditioning, and tap water speakers have become their yearning for life. Pancakes roll green onions and hold kerosene lamps; Carrying a triangular stool and lying on a concrete table; Sitting in a ventilated classroom and walking on a muddy path; Light kerosene lamps and sleep on kang mats. This is a portrayal of their life and study. I can't imagine and understand this kind of life. In contrast, the living conditions and learning environment we have are unparalleled and should be cherished.

Dad's childhood is a free and sometimes happy life in a natural state. This kind of life is what I yearn for and what I can't have. When my father was young, my grandparents worked hard at work or in the village, making more contributions to the society and having no time to take care of the children. At that time, most families had 3-5 children, and the older ones generally took care of the younger ones. Backward living conditions make it impossible for them to own their favorite toys, but children in various villages or family areas naturally gather together and play all kinds of toys and games invented by themselves. Go home in small groups, or swim or skate, or catch fish or touch shrimp. Their parents have fallen asleep after a hard day's work, but they can still play and play freely in the bright moonlight. There is no need or condition to attend various cram schools and extra-long classes. With the passage of time, the toys such as matchsticks and wooden slingshots owned by our fathers have long since disappeared, and so have their proud games such as rolling iron rings, playing porcelain balls, attacking forts, crowbars and even jumping rubber bands and kicking sandbags played by girls. Now this colorful, simple and happy life is gradually replaced by electric toys, online games, special training and studying alone at home. A happy life lacks communication and entertainment among peers, but it has a lot of loneliness and yearning.

Where was Dad's childhood? Learn math, physics and chemistry well, and you are not afraid to travel all over the world? Slogan, spent in an atmosphere of relative lack of comprehensive quality education. My childhood father has a stronger thirst for knowledge. Due to the limitation of social environment and economic conditions, we can only instill knowledge into them through limited channels such as elders, teachers and books. There are several picture books that are their extravagant hopes. It seems that learning mathematics and physics well is the only way out. Because they don't have enough conditions to receive early study and training in painting, dance, music and foreign languages. Only a few children can complete the study of mathematics, physics and chemistry and receive college education. Many poor children can't even get into the school gate and spend their childhood on the backs of cows. Parents can't have all kinds of repeaters and learning machines, and they can't broaden their horizons and gain more extensive knowledge and ability through modern equipment such as TV and computer. However, poor educational conditions have not prevented them from becoming useful talents in society. Faced with the superior learning environment and various comprehensive quality education opportunities developed by schools and families, I often fall into thinking. I think we should redouble our efforts, lay a good foundation in all aspects, and strive to become an outstanding talent with comprehensive quality and all-round development.

I learned about my father's childhood life and felt the dribs and drabs of life now. It is my growth goal to generate motivation by comparison, constantly master knowledge and improve my ability. I believe I can do better. This is what I learned from my father's childhood.
