In order to express feelings and arouse readers' interest, the author of A Dream of Red Mansions introduced readers into a dreamy world at the beginning of the book, and skillfully invented a story of "illusory life" by borrowing the familiar myth of the goddess mending the sky. The experience of stone is the experience of Jia Baoyu; Stone is a symbol of Jia Baoyu, and it also contains the shadow of the author Cao Xueqin. Nothing can fill the sky, which is the author's grief and feeling for his helplessness in the last days of feudal society. From his own experience, he saw the corruption and depravity of the aristocratic society where he came from, and everything he once loved was irretrievably destroyed. He realized the inevitability of this ending from a simple dialectical point of view, and realized that the aristocratic class did not deserve a better fate, so he mercilessly exposed and whipped them. However, the author is not without nostalgia for his rich life in the past, especially for many figures (mostly pure and kind young women) whom he warmly praised, who were burned with the collapse of feudal families. He also wanted to do something to make up for the broken "heaven" in feudal society, but society did not give him such an opportunity (there may be no way to do anything). As a result, he was "half down and out, accomplished nothing" and spent the rest of his life in poverty and loneliness. Therefore, "many teenagers have been white" refers to Jia Baoyu, which is the author's own sigh.
It is also of great significance for the author to call that stone a "stubborn stone". Hard rock is characterized by sharp edges and corners, stubbornness and inflexibility. If a person has this kind of personality, it is bound to be incompatible with the vulgar and despicable upper class everywhere. If he does not adapt to the needs of this society, this society will inevitably exclude him and not allow him. The words in the third book "Xijiang Moon" criticize Baoyu for being "down and out, ignorant and afraid of reading articles" and "incompetent in the world, unparalleled in ancient and modern times", which is a portrayal of Baoyu's stubborn character. This literal irony is actually a satire and praise for Baoyu's rebellious character of not cooperating with that evil society.
