Battle-hardened and peace-loving, Houmen gradually wanted to be like a fairy family.
The rain on the wall hangs down the fine grass, and the wind on the water belongs to the settled flowers.
Put the winch in the well to soak wine, and open the parrot in the cage to make tea.
How many people are in Lingyange, but they have never confronted Saisha?

According to historical records, Wang Jian, the former master of Shu, was unconscious in his later years. "If you avoid killing more, you will have fame and you will be punished for it." For example, Wang Zongdi, the envoy of Southwest Road, and Xun, the envoy of Qiannan, were killed successively. (See Biography of Wang Jianchuan, History of the New Five Dynasties, and Ji Tang, History as a Mirror). After Wang Jian's youngest son, Wang Yan, succeeded to the throne, he indulged in debauchery and many of Wang Jian's old ministers were abandoned. At the end of the Tang Dynasty, he avoided chaos and entered Shu, where he served as Wang Jian and Wang Yan. This poem should be written by Zhang Kun according to current events.
The first couplet is rather abrupt, describing the cold and lonely mood of veterans and the indifference of the government. The hero in the poem is a veteran, who has been a soldier all his life and has been through many battles, but in his twilight years, he "abandoned love and tranquility", which shows his loneliness. Houmen used to be full of traffic and guests, but now it is gradually "like a fairy home", lonely and quiet. The word "Fan" in the poem is quite intriguing and tells the unusual life of the retired veteran.
The couplet describes in detail the quiet and desolate environment of the general's residence: in the drizzle, overgrown grass hangs on the wall; A breeze blew the petals floating on the water together. The word "hanging" indicates the length of grass, which reminds people of the desolate scene when the wall of the general's residence was hit by wind and rain because of disrepair. On the lake in the park, the wind is blowing and the flowers are falling, which also reflects a desolate and depressed scene. This couplet is delicate and vivid, which not only depicts the desolate and lonely scene of the courtyard, but also reminds people of the sadness of the owner's suffering and the sadness of his mood. Therefore, love borrows scenery, and scenery is born of love. Natural storms and spiritual storms are all integrated. In addition, the upper and lower sentences are neat and accurate, so they have always been praised. According to the Biography of Talented Talents in Tang Dynasty, Wang Yan, a former master of Shu, visited Daci Temple, and saw the title "The rain hangs fine grass on the wall, and the wind on the water returns to settled flowers". They loved each other for a long time and asked. When they knew that it was Zhang Qian's work, they would clap their hands to control the patent, but they stopped because of the arrogance of the powerful minister.
"Put a winch in the well to soak wine, and open a parrot in the cage to make tea." This couplet shows the life interest and mental state of veterans through two pictures of life. Pulley is a kind of pumping tool made by using the principle of shaft. It's summer now, the well water is cool, the old hand draws water to make wine, and the taste of wine is clearer and sweeter. When the guests arrive, open the birdcage and let the parrot report to the owner to make tea.
The above layers describe the veteran's leisure life and lonely mood: closed doors and quiet, seemingly deserted gardens, but addicted to drinking, raising birds and drinking tea. At the end of the couplet, the poet asked, "How many people in Lingyange have never confronted Saisha?" In the seventeenth year of Zhenguan (643), Emperor Taizong painted portraits of Wei Zhi, Wei Chijingde and other 24 founding heroes in Lingyange, Chang 'an, in order to be immortal. According to the "History of the New Five Dynasties", after the founding of the People's Republic of China, Wang Jian painted a portrait of a hero in Futian Pavilion. Literally, these two poems ask: how many of the founding fathers who left their names on the portrait of Lingyange did not fight bloody battles and made contributions? The implication is that history will not erase the veteran's past achievements in serving the country and encourage him not to feel lonely and depressed. This is the theme of the whole poem. The words "confrontation" and "Saisha" at the end of the sentence are reminiscent of the heroic spirit of the veteran who galloped on the battlefield in those years, which is in sharp contrast with the depressed status quo and cold mood of "loving peace" and "being like a fairy family", so it is more alert and thought-provoking.
Some famous sayings in the late Tang Dynasty, such as "A puff of smoke wafts over a poplar flower" and "A lotus flower splashes over a mandarin duck from the west", are similar, but "Flowers belong to water" belongs to nature, so it is appropriate for Wang Yan and Hou Xu to read his poems and want to be an official.
