How can I learn English well?

Hello, I am a student of Tongji University. A few days ago, I answered some questions from my younger brothers and sisters who are about to take the college entrance examination and the senior high school entrance examination. I suddenly feel that I should help junior high school students as much as possible. So I have been answering similar questions in Baidu recently.

English is my most sure course since junior high school. In a key senior high school where the master is like a forest, the first grade in English paper can always help me get the total score, so let me tell you something about English learning in senior high school first. As long as you really spend time, you can definitely improve quickly. If you think my method is reliable, try it.

A. reading: (this can be completely improved)

Insist on reading comprehension every day, and measure the time every day for a month or two to improve the speed and accuracy. When there are compulsory subjects every day, you must have a sense of accomplishment. )

Then, I want to improve the speed of English reading comprehension within this month, so I will do two reading comprehension articles every night (or the next night on weekends), but once it is stipulated, I will resolutely implement it. At my present level, two reading comprehension should take 12 minutes, so I only give myself 20 minutes in the evening (including the time for answering questions) and stick to it for a week or two. Maybe you find that your speed has stabilized at 10 minutes, and then you find the next goal, do three articles in 12 minutes, and then stick to it for a week or two to complete this goal. Maybe you can write five articles in 15- 18 minutes. Then even if you don't practice at this time, you can basically maintain this speed.

The above is about reading speed, so now let's talk about improving accuracy. If your English score is not the best in your class, you'd better buy a reference book for step-by-step training (a set of topics from easy to difficult) (or borrow it directly from the library). Do a week's elementary exercise first, and then read the answers and explanations carefully. If you think you have basically understood them, this level of practice is fine, then you can. Take another two weeks to do the intermediate exam questions ... sometimes you have to think about problems during training. 1. According to my experience, many questions in English reading can be answered in the original text, but why not often? The reason is that many times the options will be disguised by synonyms, sentence transformation, narrator transformation and so on. Knowing this, you may know how to find the answer to this kind of question. 2. Topics like "influence" and "foreshadowing" often appear in the last topic of an article. Summarize a few more articles and see what their correct options are. 3. There are some types of articles, such as news reports, tabular forms and menu forms. Maybe you can look at the topic directly, but pay attention to the corners.

(PS: The training method of cloze can be understood by referring to reading, but the difference of cloze is that it must test some questions about grammar, part of speech and word collocation, so sometimes it is necessary to analyze the coping strategies of different questions. )

Cloze test site type

0. fixed phrases (quite a lot)

1. Context logical relationship

2. The corresponding relationship between context and word selection.

3. The answers revealed in the context

Conform to common sense of life

5. The corresponding relationship between tone intensity and context intensity of words.

6. Absolute mood and vague mood

7. Grammatical judgment

8. Use of parallel structures

9. The emotionality of adverbs and adjectives

10. In-depth usage of simple words

1 1. The use of approximate words in a specific context

12. Instantaneous verbs and continuous verbs

13. Dynamic verbs and static verbs

14. Abstract behavior and concrete behavior

15. Antonym option

16. Direct and indirect

B. Listening: (This training is very effective)

Practice listening every other day for a month, preferably in a step-by-step training form (a set of questions from easy to difficult). Listen to the elementary questions for a week, listen to the original text thoroughly, think about the answers, and feel that you can basically understand them, so that's all, and then spend two weeks listening to the intermediate questions. ...

This training method is simple and effective, and you have something to do every day. The point is, 20 minutes a day is 20 minutes. Don't spend too much time, or the rest of your schedule will be out of order.

C. Grammar: (Grammar has nothing to do with words, don't worry)

Grammar questions are different. This depends on your grammar, one by one. I suggest buying a grammar book with concise and comprehensive knowledge points. Do more exercises instead of many examples. (I remember that before the college entrance examination, we all used a book, A Guide to English Grammar Practice (edited by Guo). The exercises in that book were done three times before the college entrance examination, and the next two times were almost fast. The whole book took six or seven hours. Results When doing multiple-choice training, 20 questions were often solved in two minutes, and many of them were repeated. )

D. composition (be sure to pay attention to exam skills)

Composition focuses on showing off your English level: 1. Grammar, and try not to make grammatical mistakes 2. Writing, writing as neatly as possible, on the one hand can make the teacher look comfortable, on the other hand, it also shows that your writing ideas are very smooth. 3. Flexible use of clauses, long sentences, beautiful sentences and advanced vocabulary. When I was a sophomore, I bought a book "Wang Changxi's Ten Sentences Composition Method", which talked about the skills of writing with beautiful templates in CET-4 and CET-6 (to be honest, this is a bit opportunistic, but it is more than enough for the exam). I analyzed the usual test papers and found that 60% to 70% of the topics in the composition were related to the five types of topics introduced. I sorted out several different templates of the same subject provided by him, and sorted out a template that I think is most suitable for each subject (there are many highlights in the template, showing off my superb grammar skills). Then I try to change into a suitable template every exam, and the result is that my composition will become one of the model essays in all likelihood.

Examples of tiger balm sentences

1.___ has become the focus of people's attention, and _ _ _ _ always attracts people's greatest attention.

2. _ _ _ plays an important role in all kinds of reasons for this phenomenon.

3. People don't agree on _ _ _ _. Some people take it for granted that _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _, while others think that _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _.

E. recite words (if you don't have time, it is recommended not to spend too much time. There are so many word manuals on the market. . . In fact, as long as it is not really used, it will be forgotten in a few days. If it is really necessary to memorize, I recommend Wang Changxi's vocabulary series memory, and it is easier to remember all synonyms together. )

I have seen many people recite English words very inefficiently, such as wonderful, w- o- n- d- e- r- f- u- l, wonderful, (why do you have to pronounce them letter by letter? Letters are the most meaningless. In my opinion, I only recite it twice. The first time, look at the pronunciation behind the word, read it out, then look at the spelling of the word (write it down syllable by syllable) won- der- ful, and then look at the part of speech and Chinese notes. The second time, you must leave the book at this time, then remember the pronunciation, read it again, and spell the word syllable by syllable in your mind. If you remember it, go on to the next word. If you don't remember, look at the spelling of the textbook again (remember, only give yourself a chance to supplement), and you can remember a word two or three times at most. My experience is that if a unit has 50 words, it takes 15 minutes to recite the words.

Besides, remember to review. As for memory, review is the most important thing. I can form such a habit. For example, I review this week's English words every Saturday afternoon.

Examination skills

How to check during the exam, such as English subjects: finish first, leave blank the parts that you can't do, but highlight them to avoid missing answers; Then answer the whole volume and come back to think about the questions that you can't do just now, and completely supplement them; Then smear the card; Then check from beginning to end whether you want to get each question right, whether you have done it right, correct any mistakes immediately, and correct the corresponding answer sheet; Then think about whether you have chosen the topic you want for each topic (this is to prevent sometimes inattention in the exam from leading to clerical errors). That's basically ok.

(However, it depends on your previous answer speed. If the answer is slow, the coping strategies will change accordingly. When I was in high school, I finished my English test in 120 minutes, which was basically 70 minutes. Your method must suit you. ).

I went to college and still insisted on reviewing in this way. The same is true of CET-4 and CET-6, but CET-4 didn't take it seriously, only got 606 points. It is easy to pass.

In addition, at your request, talk about some experiences of high school mathematics.

High school mathematics

Mathematics, the key is to master the problem-solving methods, find several methods with the same questions and study the solutions well. Then find some problems of the same type to practice, at least memorize the solution. Your liberal arts are generally ok, so it shouldn't be difficult to recite. Moreover, this kind of reciting is easier than reciting the comprehensive text, and the comprehensive text should be freely played. The solution to the math recitation problem is dead. For example. 1. What conditions to look for; 2. What is the conclusion from the condition of 1? 3. Mark the answers to the correct questions from the conclusion of 2. It is worth noting that mathematics is a discipline that exercises people's thinking and logic. So no matter how you deal with the exam, try to be on the basis of understanding. If you ask questions about sea tactics blindly without knowing them, it will be harmful to your development.

For example, answering questions in English, writing in Chinese and reciting comprehensive texts can all be improved through training. But if you want to make up for a subject like mathematics, you must first know what you are missing, right? To know where your shortcomings are, you must first have a good understanding of what your high school mathematics has said in general, what knowledge points you have and what test sites you have. You must have a sense of integrity and a clear framework, so that you will know which one you know and which one you don't know, and then you will be targeted and check for gaps.

1. Learn about the overall framework of high school mathematics first. For example, one main line is from set to mapping, and then to function, and the other main line is that Cartesian coordinate system represents function with number axis. Then, these two pieces of knowledge can be connected by the combination of numbers and shapes, and they must be complete. To be honest, if you have been making up lessons at ordinary times, but you don't have a clear concept of the overall framework when you start reviewing, then you will feel very flustered and insecure. Even if you suddenly fill in a knowledge point and understand it, you will feel very strange. You always feel that there is something you don't understand, but you can't say why, right?

Then, according to the typical test questions in the order of the textbook (test questions, not necessarily examples in the textbook), one will pass, and there should not be too many types of test questions. I told my sister that I could finish reading a math textbook in about six or seven hours. Next, try to do the same type of questions by yourself. Grasp the problems one by one.

2. This is the second method. Find out a few of your simulated test papers (or simulated college entrance examination papers, or college entrance examination questions over the years) and sort out one or two sets of the most complete and typical test papers. Look at one question after another, and the solution of each question is like memorizing a formula. If you really can't understand the solution of a problem (even rote memorization), then you should open the corresponding concepts and examples in the textbook at this time. Such a test center has passed a test center.

Some ideas about mathematics learning;

1. Listen carefully in class and take math notes, especially about different aspects of concept understanding and mathematical laws. And make a typical summary of the repeatedly evaluated topics.

2. Establish a mathematical error correction book. Write down error-prone knowledge or reasoning in case it happens again. Strive to find wrong mistakes, analyze them, correct them and prevent them. Understanding: being able to deeply understand the right things from the opposite side; Lu Xun can get to the root of the error, so as to prescribe the right medicine; Answer questions completely and reason strictly.

3. Memorize mathematical laws and conclusions.

4. Establish a good relationship with classmates, strive to be a "little teacher" and form a "mutual aid group" for math learning.

5. Repeatedly consolidate and eliminate forgetting before school.

6. Carefully analyze the test paper after each exam, from the aspects of question type (which knowledge point scored high or low in the exam), scoring rate, careless mistakes and lack of knowledge. You must stick to the habit of reading examination papers. As long as you adapt to this habit wholeheartedly, you will certainly gain something.

If your foundation is weak, then it is recommended to hire a tutor. After all, an experienced teacher will have a complete grasp of the overall framework of knowledge and understand the examination questions, but be sure to let the tutor know what you really want to make up and what the most acceptable teaching method is. You can choose according to the two methods I just mentioned.

I hope it will help you and look forward to seeing your progress!
