1/3: Called by God
God took the initiative to call Abram to leave and enter the land blessed by God. First, God called Abram to leave Ur (Gen 15:7, Acts 7:4). The places God wants him to leave are local, local and his father's house. The native land is ur, his family is the hometown of Sumerians, and his father's family is the hometown of Tara, so Abram didn't really leave until Harlan. So God called Abram again, and God took the initiative to make a covenant with Abram. At the same time, God gives him benefits according to his own sovereignty, including country, name and happiness.
Big country: refers to both quantity and importance. A country includes descendants, land, constitution and king.
Daming: Contrary to the Babel incident, God gave it unconditionally according to the grace of power. God gives eternal glory, not his personal blessing.
Blessed: A person is blessed because of his beliefs. God saves all countries. God blessed this promise, not to unbelievers, but to believers.
Section 4/9: Worship God
Because of faith, Abram obeyed God's command and began a journey of faith. Lot also accompanied his uncle on a journey of confidence. Abram came to Shechem and built an altar at the oak tree to worship God. Abram dedicated the tree to God. In ancient times, people liked to worship God under tall trees, but Abram worshipped an eternal and unique God. Abram came to the land of Bethel and still built an altar to worship the only God.
Abram's confident response was to obey God's command and establish a close relationship with God. Altar is the place and way for people to establish relationship with God. So wherever Abram went, he built an altar near God.
Take care of God.
Abram kept moving, and when he came to the Negev, he met with famine. Negev is the southernmost tip of the promised land, where there is little rain and it is impossible to cultivate. Besides the famine, Abram went to Egypt. Although Abram had no confidence in Egypt, God still blessed Abram. However, Abram's experience is a microcosm of the future Israeli departure from Egypt.
First, God sent disaster-famine to Egypt (10, 47:4).
Secondly, in Egypt, the people of God-are suffering (section1215, Exodus1:114).
The Third God Salvation, God Salvation-Disaster Reduction (Chapter 8/KOOC-0/7//KOOC-0/)
When I left Egypt for the fourth time, God blessed me with peace (exodus 16 and 20, 12:33/36).
Finally, I returned to Canaan, where God led me to rest in peace (section 13:3, Exodus 17: 1).
Personal reflection:
God calls you and me to this path of faith through the gospel. God's blessing to us is the blessing of God's eternal kingdom in the future and the eternal blessing promised by God. This road of blessing needs to be experienced through faith.
Our experience of faith is like walking out of Egypt. Before entering the land of Egypt, we were full of confidence, and we established a close relationship with God every day. Reading the Bible, praying and attending worship are also to express enthusiasm for God. However, when we enter Egypt, we will experience a low confidence at this time. However, at this low point, many people are lost in Egypt, even in the wilderness. God hasn't left you, he still keeps the road in front of us. However, God only allows us to experience such an environment, so that we can learn to be with Christ, rely on and look to God. Because the love of the Lord is beyond everything.
Dear brothers and sisters, if we are weak recently, let's pray to God.
pray
God, grant us life and grace, and we pray to you. May you consider our weakness, strengthen us and follow you firmly. You are our rock and our strong refuge. When we are afraid of weakness, you are our support and shield. May you lead us as you led Abraham and make us obey you. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
