Extended information:

Yang Family General is a series of heroic legends, based on "The Romance of Yang Family Mansion" edited by Ji Zhenlun (Qinhuai poet) and "Yang Family General" by Xiong Damu Novels, scripts, dramas and other forms of romances, scripts, and dramas such as "The Legend of the Northern Song Dynasty" (also known as "The Chronicles of the Northern Song Dynasty" and "The Romance of the Generals of the Yang Family") are widely circulated among the Chinese people.

It narrates the deeds of Yang Ye, Yang Yanzhao, Yang Wenguang and others in the early Northern Song Dynasty, and tells the touching stories of four generations of the Yang family who guarded the northern border and served the country loyally. "Generals of the Xue Family", "Generals of the Yang Family", "Generals of the Hu Family", etc. constitute the famous "Three General Novels" in the history of popular novels in my country.

"History of the Song Dynasty" does not write much about the Yang family. Yang Ye, Yang Yanzhao (Yang Ye's eldest son), and Yang Wenguang (Yang Yanzhao's third son) do exist. The others, such as Mu Guiying and Yang Paifeng, are all fabricated and do not exist in historical facts such as "History of the Song Dynasty".

The seven sons of Yang Ye recorded in "Song History" are: Yang Yanlang (Yang Yanzhao), Yang Yanpu, Yang Yanxun, Yang Yanhuan, Yang Yangui, Yang Yanbin, and Yang Yanyu. Among them, Yang Yanyu followed his father in the war and died for his country in the battle at Chenjiagukou. The other six sons all died well. Yanlang was the deputy envoy of Chongyi, Yanpu and Yanxun were also enshrined officers, and Yanhuan, Yangui, and Yanbin were all Dianzhi (official name).

The official history does not mention that he died in battle, became a monk, lived in foreign countries, or died at the hands of traitorous ministers.
