Top Ten Ancient Poets Ranking

No. 10: Du Mu

In the seven-character quatrains, Du Mu can be compared with Li Bai, which is also a master of this subject. Du Mu lived in South Fan Chuan Villa in Chang 'an in his later years, so he was later called "Du Fanchuan" and wrote "Collected Works of Fan Chuan". The content of Du Mu's poems is mainly about singing history and expressing emotion. His poems are brilliant and brilliant, and he made great achievements in the late Tang Dynasty.

Ninth place: Tao Yuanming

I have to admit that Tao Yuanming has too many fans. Li Bai, Du Fu, Bai Juyi, Meng Haoran and Su Shi are all admirers of Tao Qian. He was a great poet and poet from the late Eastern Jin Dynasty to the early Southern Song Dynasty. He used to be a magistrate of pengze county. After more than 80 days as an official, he left his job and retired to the countryside. He is the first pastoral poet in China, and is known as the "School of Ancient and Modern Hermit Poetry", with a collection of Tao Yuanming. It has been honored as "Poet School" by later generations (there may be different views on this point, so I will put it here for the time being).

8 th place: Lu You

Lu Fangweng is the greatest poet in the Southern Song Dynasty, which should be true. He persisted in writing all his life and made great achievements in poetry and prose. His poetic language is simple and fluent, and his works are strictly and accurately ordered. He has both Li Bai's boldness and boldness and Du Fu's melancholy and sadness, especially his patriotic enthusiasm, which has a far-reaching influence on later generations. Known as "Little Li Bai".

Seventh place: Qu Yuan

Qu Yuan is the first great patriotic poet in the history of China, the founder of China's romantic literature, and is known as "the ancestor of China's poetry". He is the founder and representative writer of Songs of the South, and occupies an important position in the history of China literature. He was honored as "the soul of poetry" by later generations.

6th place: Su Shi

It is no exaggeration to say that Su Like Dongpo, a genius, is estimated to have a real encyclopedic task in ten thousand years, and his articles, poems, characters, calligraphy and paintings are all highly accomplished. Su Dongpo need not be introduced. He was honored as a "poetic fairy" by later generations.

Fifth place: Li Shangyin

Putting Li Shangyin above Su Shi may attract a splash, but the author's personal view is this. Li Shangyin was one of the few poets who deliberately pursued the beauty of poetry in the late Tang Dynasty and even the whole Tang Dynasty. He is good at poetry writing, and parallel prose has high literary value. He and Du Mu are called "Little Du Li" together.

Fourth place: Wang Wei

Wang Wei is a top scholar and a great talent. He became famous in Beijing when he was very young. Like Li Bai, he is a typical representative of young people's success. Later generations addressed him as "Shi Fo". Having said that, however, Wang Wei and Li Bai were born in the same year and became famous in Beijing. I don't know why there is not much overlap between the two. Is there any poet friend who can give me some advice in this regard? )

Third place: Bai Juyi

Bai Juyi and Wang Wei may be controversial, but personally, Bai Juyi should be in the top three. Bai Juyi is famous not only at home, but also abroad (such as Japan and South Korea). Later generations were honored as "Poet Magic" and "Poet King".

Second place: Li Bai

Who ranks first in Du Li will be controversial. Let's rank it according to the level of personal appreciation.

No. 1: Du Fu

No explanation.

It may be a bit inappropriate to give the top five to poets in the Tang Dynasty. However, the golden age of poetry was in the Tang Dynasty, and there was nothing we could do about it. Before the Tang Dynasty, poetry was not so complete and systematic. Qu, Tao and San Cao all wrote many famous articles, but that was not the golden age of poetry. Song poetry after Tang dynasty also has some remarkable places, but it can't be compared with Tang dynasty at all.
