In his later years, because of political frustration, he often played Italian poetry and wine. Therefore, he wrote many poems to persuade wine, and was called Mr. Drunk. Bai Juyi's famous poems on persuading wine include "Persuading Wine to Send Yuan Wine", "Small Poems", "Biography of Mr. Zuiyin" and "Self-persuading Wine under Flowers".
Bai Juyi, whose name is Lotte, was the late Xiangshan layman and Mr. Zuiyin, one of the most representative poets in the middle Tang Dynasty. In his early years, he engaged in political reform and advocated the new Yuefu movement.
According to historical records, Bai Juyi was born in a noble family and was the grandson of Bai Jian, the minister of the Northern Qi Dynasty. But since his father, his family began to study literature, and by the time Bai Juyi arrived, he was already a local scholar. Bai Juyi was proficient in poetry and knowledgeable, and was called into the Imperial Academy by the emperor. Later, due to his literary achievements, he became Tang Xianzong's left-handed anthology.
When he was in office, Bai Juyi thought that he was appreciated and promoted because the emperor liked literature, so he hoped to do his duty as an official and repay him. Therefore, he frequently wrote books and wrote many poems reflecting the social reality at that time, hoping to remonstrate and even point out mistakes in front of the emperor.
Most of Bai Juyi's letters were accepted, but his words were so direct that Tang Xianzong was disgusted and complained to Li Jiang: "Bai Juyi's boy praised me to the sky and was rude to me. I really can't stand it. " Li Jiang thought this was Bai Juyi's loyalty, and advised Xian Zong to be open and honest.
In 8 15, prime minister Wu was assassinated, and Bai Juyi wrote to advocate severely punishing the murderer. But at this time, Bai Juyi is no longer in the post of left gleaning. As an official, he has no right to speak, because he has offended many people and is said to be ultra vires. Then someone slandered his poems as harmful to Zoroastrianism. On this ground, he was demoted to Jiangzhou Sima.
Later, because Bai Juyi was used to seeing the warmth and coldness of human feelings, he turned to drinking Italian wine and floating wild cranes. He lingered between sobriety and drunkenness, from which he revealed his two sides. In the first half of his life, his official career was smooth and appreciated by the emperor, which can be described as brilliant. However, the rest of his life was bumpy and poor, but he didn't care at all and was still able to live alone.
Bai Juyi's life in his later years mostly reflected his philosophy of "poverty and loneliness" with a kind of "leisurely life". Bai Juyi's wine poems in his later years have a unique mood. He claimed that "drunkenness is not about wine", and he was as addicted to alcohol as Liu Ling and Tao Yuanming. Most of his wine poems are about "drunkenness", and he thinks that a hangover can make people forget their troubles.

It can be seen from the poem that Bai Juyi is depressed. Because he felt that youth was fleeting and the road ahead was confused, he had the idea of eating, drinking and having fun in time. This feeling of disappointment, emptiness and loneliness is related to the fact that his wish to live with Xiangling cannot be realized.
