The so-called archaism refers to poems that don't need special attention to meter. It can be five words, seven words, miscellaneous words, even six words, eight words, nine words and so on. There is no limit to the number of sentences, which can be four, six, eight or even one hundred, two hundred or even longer. It doesn't need too much rhyme. It can be even or even. Rhyme is not required at the end, and it can be changed halfway.
Modern poetry is a new poetic genre gradually perfected by poets in Tang Dynasty on the basis of excellent research and application of phonology in Southern Dynasties. There are quite strict requirements on the use of words, rhymes, the number of sentences and the level of words. Different from classical poetry, it is called modern poetry or modern poetry; Different from classical poetry which is not rigorous in form, it is also called metrical poetry.
Modern poetry has only five words and seven words.
There are three kinds of sentences in modern poetry:
(1) quatrains. Four sentences each. Five-character quatrains are abbreviated as five-character quatrains; Seven-character quatrains are short for seven-character quatrains.
(2) rhymes. Eight sentences each. Five-character rhyme is called five-character rhyme, referred to as five laws for short; Seven-character poem is called seven-character poem, which is called seven-character poem for short.
(3) exclusion. It's usually five words and twelve sentences. This form of poetry was adopted in the imperial examinations in the Tang Dynasty. It can be longer.
