Poetry appreciation of laundry songs

This is a poem about daily work. Laundry may be familiar to people. If you have ever walked in the countryside, you will see the wonderful scene of village women or girls washing clothes by a stream where springs meet. This poem renders and depicts this touching scene, just like a leisurely and cheerful ballad, giving people beautiful enjoyment.

There seems to be no profound truth in the whole poem. It just describes and vividly reproduces the intuitive picture. A gurgling stream, crystal clear spring water, with soap bubbles and faded clothes, flows endlessly before our eyes. Here, we can see that the poet first deliberately described not the subject of the painting: the village woman or girl washing clothes, but the flowing and jumping stream, which made the labor full of relaxed and lively mood from the beginning. Next, we moved our perspective with the poet's pen and ink, only to see smooth stones in the crystal clear water, a pair of tender and silky hands, as white and beautiful as white jade lotus roots, washing clothes skillfully. The poet used the brushwork from far to near, just like constantly turning the lens of a camera, and finally presented us with a close-up of his hand, which was out of the general poetic mode. The poet did not exaggerate the clothes and posture of the washerwoman, but deliberately described those touching and dexterous hands, which not only added a bit of beauty to the picture of the poem, but also highlighted the true nature of the workers, leaving readers room for galloping and imagination. In fact, this is a praise for labor. The last verse of the poem is a repetition of the first verse, but the first two sentences are realized by general laundry sentences, which is called repetition in rhetoric. This rhetorical device is most obvious in the last two sentences of each section. The same poem title appears repeatedly in the poem, giving people a kind of cyclical musical beauty. In addition, this poem uses a catchy language like a ballad, with two sentences and one rhyme, harmonious phonology and natural and smooth syllables. Therefore, the whole poem not only presents a vivid and straightforward picture, but more importantly, it has a strong musicality, just like a flowing spring stream, giving people a sense of music, which makes the whole poem not only show a relaxed and lively working life in content, but also give people a strong aesthetic pleasure in art.
