Depressed, all the benefits are taken by men

Depressed, all the benefits are taken by men. This is my feeling after reading a few novels recently.

The first is "Help", which I watched recently. It tells the story of Teacher Sun who by chance saved a young woman who was about to commit suicide by jumping off a building because she lost her love. This woman fell in love with Teacher Sun and forced Teacher Sun to Give her a marriage, otherwise she will jump off the building again. Teacher Sun agreed, and Teacher Sun’s wife also made it possible for her.

After reading the novel, I couldn’t help but write a few words: depressing ending.

I am really depressed. It has been more than a month since I read the novel. Every time I think about it, I still feel a suffocation accumulating in my chest and cannot let it out. Is this life-saving? Even if it counts, it is saving one life and killing another. Is Teacher Sun a hero saving the beauty? I don't think so, although the author gave him such sufficient reasons. No matter how many reasons there are, you can't escape the suspicion of modern Chen Shimei. And why did Teacher Sun’s ex-wife agree? Can't figure it out. Maybe this is just wishful thinking on the part of men - looking for a high-sounding reason for their love of the new and dislike of the old. Or maybe men have a complex of having three wives and four concubines, always imagining that their eldest wife is very virtuous and virtuous enough to help them take concubines, so that they can enjoy the blessings of this family without fear of public opinion.

However, in today’s society, is it realistic? Which woman would be willing to give up the family she has worked so hard for so easily? Unless she doesn't love him anymore, or she's crazy. So, men with fantasies, wake up and stop daydreaming. Don't give so many reasons for your dislike, it will appear so hypocritical and irresponsible.

The other article is "Wooden Pearl" published in the sixth issue of "Selected Novels" in 2013, written by Wu Kejing. The ending of this story is even more incredible: After years of bumping into each other, the wife finally realized: Human beings, life is really not easy, and I can’t let them (husband and his extramarital lover) hate me for the rest of my life. He also said that he could not leave any regrets to himself. At the same time, do a good job in the ideological work of the children, so that the children agree to the divorce of their parents and do not resent their father. She also forced her husband to sign the divorce agreement and asked him to treat his lover well. Later, she cheerfully helped organize her husband's (now ex-husband's) second wedding. Therefore, the "I" in the novel praised: She has understood and lived out of her realm.

Oh my god! Is there really such a generous wife in the world? What a psycho! I believe this is what all men in the world want to happen to them.

Then there is Mo Yan's "Life and Death Fatigue". It said that Lan Jiefang, who became the deputy county magistrate, was pursued by a young girl Pang Chunmiao. Later, the two gave up everything and moved away. Lan Jiefang's wife, Huang Hehe, ordered her son to retrieve Lan and Pang at the last moment of his life, saying: You two have suffered a lot these years... I don't have a few days to live, so you don't have to hide here and there. Oh... I'm also confused, why didn't I help you in the first place...

Alas, I don't know how to evaluate it. Is it really true: Even if a person is about to die, his words are good?

I do not intend to be a moral judge, and to be honest, I cannot judge: Should people, whether men or women, pursue new love, or keep their previous love commitments? It is human nature to like the new and dislike the old, but the responsibility for marriage and family - the heavy responsibility, can we give up easily? Is it human nature to give up one's own responsibilities? Could it be that the ancients were right: in the beginning, human nature is inherently evil?

Here, I try to modify the famous poem: Life is precious, but love is more expensive. If it is due to responsibility, both can be thrown away. If the change is not done well, it seems inhumane to let people throw away both.

I have to lament that the power of literature is so powerful that it makes me feel troubled by some of these storylines.

I remember watching Qian Zhongshu's "Fortress Besieged" N years ago. I didn't feel much of Qian's humor that everyone talks about, but when I think of it, I feel suffocated - yes , is suffocation, the feeling of being unable to breathe, more uncomfortable than depression. The reason is that I didn't see a shred of hope in this story. All the characters seemed to have reached a dead end with no way out. After reading the entire book, I felt like I had fallen into an abyss. I couldn't see anything when I looked around. Despair, it’s so dark, where is the way out?

So until now, I don’t know how to evaluate "Fortress Besieged": Good? Bad? All I know is that even now, when I think about it, the feeling of suffocation and despair is still with me, making me unable to live in peace.

This is the legendary power of literature.
