How did Hong Xiuquan launch the Taiping Rebellion?
1847, Hong Xiuquan arrived in Amethyst, Guiping, Guangxi, to meet his comrade-in-arms Feng Yunshan. 185 1 year 1 month1day, Hong Xiuquan launched an uprising in Jintian Village, Guangxi, and officially raised the anti-Qing banner. Because the religion advocated by Hong Xiuquan is that everyone can enjoy a peaceful and happy life together, his rebel army is called Taiping Army. At the beginning of the uprising, Taiping Army was besieged by local troops of Qing army. Hong Xiuquan led his troops to various counties to look for opportunities to wipe out the Qing army in the movement. In March of the same year, in Wuxuan Dongxiang, Guangxi, Hong Xiuquan was acclaimed as king by his subordinates. After capturing Yong 'an (now mengshan county, Guangxi), Hong Xiuquan named the five commanders of the Taiping Army as the five kings of the East, West, South, North and Wing, and asked the East King Yang to rule over the kings, thus establishing a strong leadership core. In June of the following year, according to the opinion of East Wang Yang, Hong Xiuquan formulated the policy of "taking Jinling as the center" and decided to take Nanjing as the attack target of Taiping Army. Because of the correct military strategy, Hong Xiuquan's army was in full swing and soon occupied Nanjing in March 1853. So Nanjing was designated as the capital of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom and renamed Tianjing. Hong Xiuquan formally established the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom regime.
