"The road is long, Xiu Yuan, and I will go up and down."
This poem is a true portrayal of Qu Yuan and thank you sir, which embodies his strong belief of endless life and struggle, and profoundly expresses his political ambition to turn the tide and make Qiang Bing rich.
Qu Yuan lived in the Warring States Period, and his life experienced three periods: Chu Weiwang, Chu Huaiwang and Xiang Wang. He was born in a noble family, and he was good at dealing with chaos and rhetoric. In his early years, he was highly valued by Chu Huaiwang. He was an official in Zuotu and worked as a doctor in San Lv.
During the Warring States period, the Seven Chivalrous Men fought for hegemony and kept on fighting. As far as national strength is concerned, only Qin and Chu were most likely to accomplish the great cause of reunification at that time, especially the former had greater advantages. There are many aristocratic interest groups in Chu, and class contradictions are prominent. In the face of internal troubles and foreign invasion, in order to realize the great cause of Chu reunification, Qu Yuan did not stop there, but faced difficulties. Internally, he actively assisted Wang Huai in reforming the country, strengthening the rule of law, limiting aristocratic privileges, promoting talents and empowering people, and developing economic strength. Externally, from the actual situation, put forward the correct policy in line with the long-term interests of Chu, and resolutely advocate uniting with Qin. In this way, Chu was once strong and powerful. But who knows that Qu Yuan was originally devoted to the country and the people, but because of the implementation of domestic and foreign policies, he inevitably touched the interests of the decadent aristocratic groups in Chu, and was later framed by a small group and alienated by Chu Huaiwang.
In the 15th year of Wang Huai (304 BC), Zhang Yi, the prime minister of Qin Dynasty, paid a large sum of money to buy Shanxi merchants, Zilan and others as spies, and at the same time tricked Wang Huai into breaking diplomatic relations with Chu by offering merchants in a land of 600 miles. After being cheated, Chu Huaiwang became angry from embarrassment. He sent troops to attack Qin twice, both of which were disastrous. He sent Qu Yuan to Qi in an attempt to mend fences. During this period, Zhang Yi once again went from Qin to Chu, which disintegrated the plan of Qi-Chu Alliance. In the twenty-fourth year of Wang Huai, Qin Chu made an alliance with Huang Ci, and Chu completely surrendered to Qin. Qu Yuan was immediately expelled from Du Ying and went to the Northern Han Dynasty.
Thirty years after Wang Huai, Qu Yuan returned to Du Ying. In the same year, Chu Huaiwang was invited by the State of Qin to meet the military attache, was detained, and finally died in a foreign country. After Xiang Wang ascended the throne, he continued to implement the policy of surrender, and Qu Yuan was once again expelled from the capital and exiled to Jiangnan. In the 21st year of King Xiang of Qing Dynasty (278 BC), General Qin broke the capital of Ying. In the face of the country's destruction, Qu Yuan was heartbroken and filled with indignation. He jumped into the Guluo River and died of his political ideal all his life.
Qu Yuan's life is undoubtedly tragic and great. Although he failed politically, his unswerving patriotic enthusiasm for the motherland, indomitable fighting spirit against strong enemies and lofty personality of "winning glory with the sun and the moon" have been deeply remembered, admired and loved by the world for thousands of years, inspiring and influencing countless Chinese sons and daughters. According to historical records, during his two exile, Qu Yuan wrote immortal poems such as Li Sao, Nine Chapters and Tian Wen, which had far-reaching influence. In these poems, Qu Yuan sharply criticized the darkness and corruption of the fatuous royal family at that time, expressed infinite loyalty to the motherland and the people, and revealed the sadness and anguish that the political ideal could not be realized.
It is said that after the death of Qu Yuan, the people of Chu were very sad and flocked to the Miluo River to pay their respects. The fisherman paddled the boat spontaneously and fished his body back and forth on the river. A fisherman took out rice balls, eggs and other foods prepared for Qu Yuan and threw them into the river "plop, plop", saying that he wanted to feed ichthyosaurs, shrimps and crabs so that they wouldn't bite his body. After seeing it, people rushed to follow suit, fearing that the rice balls would be eaten by dragons, so they came up with the idea of wrapping rice with neem leaves and then wrapping it with colored silk, which eventually developed into brown seeds. An old doctor took an altar of realgar wine and poured it into the river, saying that he would stun the dragon water beast so as not to hurt Qu Yuan. Since then, every year on the fifth day of May, there is the custom of rowing dragon boats, eating zongzi and drinking realgar wine. In this way, people express their nostalgia and reverence for the patriotic poet Qu Yuan.
For more than two thousand years, the Dragon Boat Festival has never been abolished, and the custom of rowing dragon boats, eating zongzi and drinking realgar wine has been continued and passed down. Due to the barrier of time and space, Qu Yuan is so far away from us that he has no impression. What Qu Yuan left in people's memory is actually not his voice and smile, but his life story and great spirit. 1953, at the World Peace Council of the World Peace Congress held in Moscow, the participants unanimously decided to list Qu Yuan as a world cultural celebrity and called on people all over the world to solemnly commemorate him. Qu Yuan's name will remain in the hearts of people all over the world forever, and his influence on later generations can be seen from this.
"If you take a long breath to hide your tears, you will mourn the hardships of people's lives." Qu Yuan is such a poet who cares about the country and the people. "The world is turbid and I am alone, and everyone is drunk and I wake up alone." Qu Yuan is such a historian with strong belief. "Qingyun is dressed in white and shoots Sirius with a long arrow." Qu Yuan is such a warrior with high morale. "I am also kind. Although I died nine times, I still have no regrets. " Qu Yuan is such a hero who is not afraid of violence.
No matter how history changes, no matter how times change. From the moment Qu Yuan jumped into the Guluo River, he was firmly solidified and precipitated in the hearts of Chu people, and it was destined that his soul would be washed and crossed, constantly cut and lingering, and then sublimated into a great national spirit. Today's "Qu Yuan" is not the doctor Qu who was more than two thousand years ago. He represents a spirit of the times, people's complex and national culture that passes through time and space, one after another and passed down from generation to generation. In this way, "Qu Yuan" lived vividly and permanently in the hearts of the people.
Please remember, let's remember "Qu Yuan" every Dragon Boat Festival!
