The desolate smoke and desolate rain help people feel sad, and the clothes are stained with tears. Self-aware.
Except for the spring breeze and the green sand, it is just like watching you crossing the river.
Translation
The smoke and cold rain in the wild made people even sadder. I didn’t even know that my collar was soaked with tears.
Without the spring breeze, the reeds on the river bank are still green, just like when I sent you across the river.

I came to the Long'an River to see off my younger brother. I was struck by the scene and remembered my daughter's complicated mood when she got married. I couldn't help but shed tears again. In feudal society, after a woman gets married, her relationship with her parents becomes estranged. The separation of flesh and blood is a big blow to the father's heart. However, the happiness of the child's family is what the parents look forward to, so the separation is very contradictory and complicated. In the traditional cultural background of feudal society, few fathers so truly expressed their indescribable feelings about their daughter's marriage, but Wang Anshi wrote the feelings of an ordinary father deeply and truly.
The first two sentences of the poem talk about coming to the river to see off my brother. The same desolate smoke and rain, the same separation of flesh and blood. Experience this scene again, how can you not shed tears and wet your clothes. The poet said "in tears" but "unknowingly", which is exactly what he wrote about the infatuated expression when standing by the river and watching his relatives go away. The emotion in it is deep and melancholy. The last two sentences say that except for the fact that the spring breeze turns the beach green, everything is as sad as when I sent you off to get married. And the word "eliminate" is particularly clever. It intensifies the characteristics of the green, melancholy and sad scenery in spring. The scenery is the same as in the past, but now the relatives are separated, and they will feel sad and emotional in their hearts.
