Motherly Love
This is a true story. The story takes place in Qinghai Province in the west, a desert area that is extremely short of water. Here, the water consumption per person per day is strictly limited to three pounds, which still has to be transported by the garrison from somewhere very far. Daily drinking, washing, washing vegetables, laundry, including feeding animals, all rely on these three pounds of precious water.
People are short of water, and livestock are also thirsty! Finally one day, an old cow that had always been considered honest and loyal was so thirsty that it broke free from its reins and forced its way into the only road in the desert that water trucks must pass through. Finally, the military vehicle carrying water arrived. With incredible recognition, Lao Niu quickly rushed onto the road, and the military vehicle suddenly stopped with an emergency brake. Lao Niu stood silently in front of the car, refusing to move even though the driver scolded him. Five minutes passed, and the two sides were still in a stalemate. The water-carrying warriors had seen animals blocking the road before, but they were not as stubborn as this cow. People and cows were wasting away like this, eventually causing a traffic jam. The driver behind began to curse and impatiently even tried to start the car to drive them away, but the old cow remained unmoved.
Later, the owner of the cow came. The angry owner raised his whip and beat the skinny cow hard on its back. The cow was beaten to pieces and screamed, but it still refused to get out of the way. . The blood came out and stained the whip red. The old cow's shrill mooing seemed particularly tragic when combined with the cold wind in the desert. The water carrier on the side cried, and the scolding driver also cried. Finally, the water carrier said: "Let me violate the rules once, and I am willing to accept the punishment once." He took out half a basin of water from the water truck—— It was exactly about 3 pounds and was placed in front of the cow. Unexpectedly, Lao Niu did not drink the water he had fought so hard for, but faced the sunset and mooed to the sky, as if calling for something. A calf ran behind the beach not far away. The injured old cow watched lovingly as the calf drank the water greedily. He stretched out his tongue and licked the calf's eyes. The calf also licked the old cow's eyes. In silence, Tears were seen in the eyes of mother and son. Without waiting for their owner to shout, they turned around and walked back slowly in silence.
One night at the end of the 20th century, when I saw this heart-wrenching scene on TV, I remembered the poverty and embarrassment of my family when I was a child, and the hardships of working in the countryside. Mother, like many viewers in front of the TV, I shed tears.
