Apollinaire [France]
The coat of arms of autumn rules me humbly.
So I love fruit and I hate flowers.
I mourn and cry for every kiss I give.
Like a broken walnut complaining to the wind.
Eternal autumn is the season of my heart.
The old lover's hand scattered it with fallen leaves
The wife behind me is the shadow of my fate.
The pigeon will make its last flight tonight.
(translated by Bai Fei)
This is a sad lovelorn poem. Throughout the ages, countless infatuated people have devoted themselves to the long river of love, and their loved ones have been deeply moved. Once lovelorn, the season of life will suddenly enter the chilly autumn, even the lush spring and summer can't get rid of the autumn wind in my heart. Birds of a feather flock together. People who are lovelorn often have autumn in their eyes, autumn in their ears and autumn in their hearts. Autumn slaughter dominates the season of lovelorn hearts.
Heralds are just a prelude to the desolation of the soul in autumn. Arms, the ruler holds life and death, is a symbol of power. Here, the poet regards it as a poem title, vividly pointing out that his spiritual season has been dominated. Using "heraldry", a somewhat harsh and cold symbol, to compare the mood shows that the poet's mind is in a bleak and miserable situation, and it is beyond his control. Therefore, the opening sentence of the poem tells the truth, a controlled mentality: "Autumn's coat of arms rules obedient me", and the word "deference" contains a kind of helplessness after trying to extricate herself in vain, so Xiang Qiu finally gave in and was willing to be at the mercy of Autumn. It can be seen that the mood is bleak and the bitterness is profound. Since I agree that autumn dominates me, "so I love fruits and I hate flowers", then I will accept the bitter fruit of lovelorn. The fruit of autumn is connected with my life, "so I love fruit", but I hate the flowers that breed this bitter fruit. A contradictory, complicated and tortuous inner trend, mixed with regret and regret. Because I paid too much in spring, I could only "mourn and cry for every kiss I paid". Kiss, the silent language of emotional expression, records the thrill, impulse and sweetness engraved in the realm of love, and is the investment of life in love. Every sincere kiss is a lifetime contribution. However, when a part of life is sacrificed and it is found that the harvest is bitter, then a heart is like a "broken walnut", dry and hard, crumpled and complaining to the wind. This poem is full of bitter and resentful feelings. In the second paragraph of the poem, the poet attributed the great pain of life to fate and turned bitter resentment into a helpless sigh: "eternal autumn, the season of my heart." This sigh is so long that it has penetrated for more than half a century and has been circulated to this day. In poetry, this should be a poetic expression, which spreads a desolation for the spiritual experience and symbolic image to be expressed in the whole poem, and sets off the background that best suits the emotional atmosphere of the poem. From this, you can freely play the following image: "The old lover's hands are covered with leaves." The lovelorn leaves rustled in his heart. And this love tragedy is finally attributed to fate by the poet: "The wife behind me is the shadow of my fate/the dove will make the last flight tonight". The feeling of fatalism is expressed through Greek mythology-Eurydice, the beloved wife of the music master orpheus, was killed by a poisonous snake, and orpheus went to the underworld to beg for mercy. Touched by his piano, Pluto allowed him to take his wife back to the underworld, but there was a ban: he was not allowed to look back at his wife before leaving the underworld. Orpheus heard footsteps along the way, eager to look back at his wife, but held back. However, at the last step of stepping on the threshold of hades, he couldn't help it any longer. He turned and opened his arms to his wife, and Eurydice's figure disappeared into a wisp of white fog. Everything was predestined in a previous life, and it was hard to break. There was nothing we could do. At this point, the poet's soul was chased by pain and regret and had to flee helplessly in the shadow of fate. Before he fled, he let the dove fly for the last time, let his heart jump freely for the last time, and let his homesick wings soar in the sky of love for the last time. This stroke strongly conveys endless helplessness and disappointment.
Masaaki Shirakawa, a Japanese literary theorist, said in his masterpiece "Symbol of Depression": People "live deep in their hearts, that is, at the bottom of unconscious psychology, which is extremely painful and profound. While experiencing this kind of pain, we participated in a tragic battle. We are on the road of life, or * * *, or shouting, or complaining, or crying ... "Heralds are what poets do after experiencing such painful and profound injuries as the agitation of love and the despair of lovelorn. * * *, crying, complaining and crying.
In art, the poem heraldry is excellent. Loneliness, desolation, sadness and melancholy are hidden everywhere in the poem, but there is no famous saying. All these autumn feelings are engraved in Autumn Embrace, and every image conveys the poet's depressed spiritual feelings to the fullest. A "flower" makes people read a story in a fragrant spring, but the ending is bitter. Kissing one by one, let people appreciate the dedication of a willing heart in love, but salvage a wet heart and a nuclear head, let people see through a heart crumpled by suffering, a "fallen leaf", let people read the autumn of a lonely soul, and finally let people see the endless disappointment scattered in the night sky. All these images, simple and refined, seem handy, but they reflect the poet's outstanding poetic talent and wisdom. The language of poetry is simple, natural, simple and unpretentious. It's true. It's very deep.
