This book mainly collected more than 500 years' works from the early Zhou Dynasty to the mid-Spring and Autumn Period, and finally compiled it into a book, about the 6th century BC. The content of the works is very extensive, which profoundly reflects all aspects of social life during the Yin and Zhou Dynasties, especially from the early years of the Western Zhou Dynasty to the mid-Spring and Autumn Period. The application of Fu, Bi and Xing is not only an important symbol of the artistic features of The Book of Songs, but also opens the basic techniques of China's ancient poetry creation.
Four schools of poetry: refers to the four schools of Lu, Qi, Han and Mao who studied the Book of Songs in Han Dynasty.
