Introduction to Xiaoya Tianbao

"Tianbao" is an article in "The Book of Songs·Xiaoya·Lu Ming Zhi Shi". It is a Chinese poem in the pre-Qin era. The whole poem has six chapters, each chapter has six lines. It is a poem that wishes and prays for the king. "Preface to Mao's Poems" says: ""Tianbao" is a way of reporting to the people above. If the king is able to work with people below, he can accomplish his government, and if the minister can be beautiful, he can repay the government." More specifically, "This poem is about summoning the public to carry out government." A poem written to congratulate King Xuan on his coming to power" (see Zhao Kuifu's "On Zhao Bohu, an Outstanding Poet of the Western Zhou Dynasty", see "Proceedings of the International Academic Symposium on the Book of Songs"). The poem expresses Zhao Bohu, as the caregiver, teacher and official of King Xuan, his enthusiastic encouragement and ardent expectations for the new king at the beginning of King Xuan's accession to the throne, that is, he hopes that after King Xuan ascends the throne, he will work hard to govern, complete the great cause of rejuvenation, and revive the glory of his ancestors. In fact, it also expresses Zhao Bohu's political ideals as a far-sighted politician. The Book of Songs is the first collection of poems in the history of Chinese literature. It had a profound impact on the development of poetry in later generations and became the source of the realist tradition of Chinese classical literature.
