Sanyan Temple is located about 1 km northwest of Lishui City, Zhejiang Province. The temple is located near Sanyan, hence its name. There is a cave in the middle rock named Baiyun, with a waterfall pouring from it, which is called Rain Cliff. The inscription on the cliff is written by Li Yong of the Tang Dynasty. There is a cave in the left rock named Qingxu, and the cave is like a half moon. There is a cave named Chaoxi on the right cliff, and a hidden spring flows out from the back. The stone is carved into a pool, which is named Danquan.
Sanyan Temple has more than 30 inscriptions from all dynasties since the Tang Dynasty;
There is a cave named Baiyun in the middle rock, with a waterfall pouring from it, and water droplets splashing on the rocks like rain, which is called rain. The inscription on the cliff is written by Li Yongzheng, a famous calligrapher of the Tang Dynasty; the stone carving on Yuya is the earliest, with the highest historical and artistic value. The diameter of the word "Yu" is 1.25 meters, and the diameter of the word "Ya" is 1.5 meters; the name of the right cave is clear, and the cave is like a half moon. The left cave is named Chaoxi. There is a hidden spring flowing out from behind, and the stone is carved into a pool, which is named Danquan. There are also scenic spots such as Shihua'an and Zhuyan before and after Sanyan.
The cliff carvings of Sanyan Temple were announced as county-level cultural relics protection units in Lishui County on November 17, 1984. Protection scope: all the cliff carvings of Sanyan Temple and the rock walls where the stone carvings are located.
