Why do we need poetry? -Preface to Sun Ye's poetry collection "New Address"

Brother Sun Ye asked me to preface his new collection of poems "New Address", which frightened me. First, he is much older than me, and I'm afraid it's not appropriate for me to preface him. Second, I don't know much about poetry. I'm afraid I can't understand the mystery of his poetry. I told him these ideas, but he felt that they were evasive, and he was quite unhappy on the other end of the phone, so he had to promise to talk about poetry, Chirstine and Chirstine here. Korean director Li Cangdong is my favorite director. Last year, he made a film called Poetry, which tells the story of Miko, an old Korean man, who studied hard to write poetry after retirement. The story touched me. I was thinking: Why did she learn to write poetry? What does poetry mean to her? In our impression, poetry seems to be the cause of young people, always associated with passion, inspiration and whimsy. Especially in Peking University, where I study, poets are always maverick and unrestrained, but in the movie "Poetry", "Poetry" is ordinary. It is just an aesthetic attitude towards life, not mysterious or weird. Is produced in life. I think here, Li Cangdong restored the understanding of poetry in our cultural tradition. For orientals, we don't have a strong sense of religion, but we have an aesthetic attitude towards life. In the face of suffering, embarrassment and embarrassment in real life, we rarely think about "crime and punishment" persistently, but we can distance ourselves from "reality" with a detached attitude, reflect and reflect, and find the true meaning and beauty in it. In my opinion, the same is true of Chirstine's poems. His poems are a secret inner record. Such a poem comes from life, but it has some distance from life. His poems endow life with poetry, and let us see the softness, subtlety and truth of life. Just like wine, wine is brewed from grain, but it is different from grain, but it is the deformation and sublimation of grain. In Chirstine's poems, we can see his life and soul, and we can also see the poems lingering in his heart. This kind of poetry is an important way for us to resist ordinary life, or it is an aesthetic sublimation. It allows us to face everything in reality and find beauty in it. I think this is the first characteristic of Chirstine's poetry. I have only met Sunyeh a few times, but we feel like friends at home. I remember the first time we met in Shenzhen, we talked very speculatively and drank a lot of wine. In my impression, Sun Ye is a rough and unrestrained person, with some Jianghu brothers' temperament. I didn't know he was a poet at that time, so I was quite surprised when I first read his poems. I didn't expect him to be so sensitive and delicate inside. His poems not only describe his life and experience, but also his feelings about everything in the world, which are subtle and meticulous, seemingly. In fact, it reveals another side of him, and this side may be closer to his heart: "I have nothing to say in the face of time, and the branches on the seventh floor leave some shadows in front of my window in the sun" (Branches on the seventh floor). Here, a delicate and rich inner world is presented, and he will think about a branch and realize the meaning of life. This is just an example. There are too many things described in Chirstine's poems, ranging from earthquakes and social events to flowers and trees. But in his works, these things are all with his body temperature and emotions, and he has his unique observation and thinking. We can regard these poems as the whole world in Sun Ye's eyes. He touched the world with his poems and made the world artistically. In this sense, we can say that poetry is a way for Sun Ye to reach the world, and for us, poetry is a way for us to reach Sun Ye's world. Through poetry, we can go deep into Chirstine's heart and his world, which is a secret world and a more real world. They showed us a different and richer Sun Ye, which may be regarded as the second feature of Sun Ye's poems. So, what's the difference between Sun Ye's poems? I think Sun Ye's poems can calm us down, let us pause in the busy rhythm and look at things around us in a different way. In poetry, Sun Ye's pace also slowed down. He quietly observed the world around him, described all this and poured out his feelings. It is in poetry that he blends in with the world he describes and presents it in the image and form of poetry. This is a process of discovery and exploration. For example, everyone can see the sky on the treetops of Honggui Road and the moon in the Grand Theatre Square, but only by stopping to observe can they find it. The discovery of a particular time and space is itself poetic. Sun Ye is good at finding poetry in the ordinary. His poetry is that he stops in a fast-paced life, quietly observes and thinks. In these poems, we can see that Sun Ye always appears as a "lyric hero". The "I" in these poems describes everything and his own feelings. He is showing, revealing and showing us the inner world and life rhythm of a lyric poet. At the same time, in these poems, Sun Ye also developed his unique narrative tone, which is lingering: I sang at a slow pulse like water in the same time, slowly bleeding my bones, breaking my tendons, untied the reins and hanging my boots on the high wall. What can you do if I give up all the fighting? ("What else can I do? ) In this poem, we can see forbearance and humble hesitation, as well as talk and persistence. There are rich emotions hidden in a poem, which are expressed in a unique narrative tone, showing the author's extraordinary talent. This is just an example. In other poems, Sun Ye is still expressing his feelings with his unique tone, and once everything in the world enters his poems, it has a different meaning. I think this is because Chirstine integrated his unique life experience into his poems, which is also the reason why he can write new poems and feel beautiful.
