Kowloon is a part of Hong Kong. Kowloon Peninsula is the north gate of Hong Kong, originally belonging to Xin 'an County (now Shenzhen). 1842 (the 22nd year of Daoguang) After the Opium War, Britain occupied Hong Kong Island. 1860 (the 10th year of Xianfeng) China and Britain signed the Beijing Treaty, and Britain occupied Tsim Sha Tsui at the southern tip of Kowloon Peninsula. 1898 (in the 24th year of Guangxu reign), the Qing government was forced to sign the Special Article on Expanding the Border of Hong Kong and forcibly lease it. There is a railway from Shenzhen to Guangzhou, which is the only land and sea passage in and out of Hong Kong Island.
