The obvious sign of "Changyao Style" first comes from the connection with traditional Chinese resources, which brings the blood, connotation and tonality of Chinese itself, brings the syntactic tension between literature and vernacular Chinese, and forms his literary style at that time, which is vigorous and vertical, elegant and beautiful, high and quiet.
In the history of contemporary poetry in China, Changyao is the most important and unique style commensurate with its life and aesthetic pursuit. If you misappropriate the poet Nishikawa's statement about yourself, you can call it Changyao style. It is this "Changyao style" that distinguishes Changyao from his contemporaries and becomes a unique and powerful language existence. It is precisely because of this "Chang Yao style" that Chang Yao rewrote his "early poems". One of the purposes of rewriting is to incorporate early blind writing into this conscious aesthetic pursuit and language casting.
As far as social influence is concerned, Chang Yao is undoubtedly far inferior to Beidao at home and abroad, but in the poetry circle, Chang Yao is recognized as a great poet, and the various dimensions of poetry modernity displayed by Chang Yao are instructive to contemporary China poetry. The significance of Changyao lies in revising the single understanding of modernity in the past.
Chang Yao showed us how to read new poems in Chinese. He not only has an antique tendency in language, but also has a pure China temperament. More importantly, he opened up another road for China's poetry by himself: he established a blood relationship with the land under his feet with his life. Poetry dripping from the suffering of the land and the intuition of survival must have a body temperature, and poetry with life pain can reveal the truth about itself and the existence of this land. Such a poem must sound like pure Chinese.
