Children's literature (monthly) was founded in 1963. With the care and participation of the famous writers of the older generation, it was co-founded by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and the Chinese Writers Association. Over the past 40 years, children's literature has published a large number of outstanding works, trained a group of outstanding writers and nurtured the healthy growth of several generations of children.
Since the reform and opening up, children's literature has embarked on the road of leaping and sustainable development with the efforts of editor-in-chief Xu Dexia. On the basis of implementing the target management responsibility system in 1996, the monthly circulation of this journal is more than 60,000, and the monthly circulation in 2009 is107,000.
