This book "Implication" by Yan Shu is included in the "overlapping words" in the textbook "Enlightenment of Reading and Writing Ancient Poetry", mainly to teach children to use overlapping words more in writing. The meaning of this poem itself has not been deeply explained, but the metaphor of this poem is so ingenious that Mr. Su Can can't help but "argue" a sentence.

This is a poem about lovesickness after parting. The first two sentences, "The fragrant cars on the oil wall are gone, and the clouds stay in the gorge in the west", one refers to the woman written by the means of transportation, and the other refers to the legendary Wushan goddess as a mysterious woman, all of which are metaphors of "people" through "things", and the last two sentences, "Pear blossoms dissolve the moon, catkins pond is light with the wind", are usually interpreted as describing the scene in which the poet wrote this poem, and several of them are interpreted as Yan Huan.

Let's analyze it from the overall structure. This is a poem with seven words and eight sentences. Generally speaking, the first four sentences of an eight-sentence poem can be divided into two paragraphs, just as we are writing an article in paragraphs now. Poems with this structure can be found everywhere, but the first two sentences and the last six sentences are rarely segmented. Unfortunately, Mr. Su is a poor scholar. He has never "memorized 300 poems" and has always opposed "reciting poems" on the basis of not understanding. According to the current mainstream interpretation of this poem, it is such a structure: the first two sentences say that women have lost their trace, and the last six sentences say that poets feel sorry for themselves at home. First of all, the structure has always been unconventional, and the topic is "Morality". The so-called "implication" naturally has "profound meaning" hidden in the poem. There is also a saying that this poem is originally untitled, either untitled or its real meaning is unwilling to be humanitarian for outsiders, just like Li Shangyin's untitled poem (Pengshan has no way, meaning "no way to get through"? -A new interpretation of Teacher Su's poems).

Since the first two sentences both use "things" to describe "people", why are the last two sentences not "things"? Therefore, "the pear blossom garden melts the moon, and the catkin pond has a faint wind" is undoubtedly a scenery to describe this once-known "beauty"! The former sentence "pear flower" and "dissolving the moon" (such as moonlight like water) have the same point of "white", and nine times out of ten they praise women's "white and beautiful skin"; What about the last sentence "catkin pond wind"? Pear catkins symbolize spring, so the "breeze" is naturally spring breeze, perhaps praising the gentleness of femininity, which makes people feel like spring breeze. The overlapping of "soluble" and "faint" in these two sentences subtly reflects a hazy aesthetic feeling of seeing flowers in the fog. Only such a woman can make the poet forget each other after a glance and make him miss him like a dream. Otherwise, the first two sentences only describe the beauty's car and whereabouts, but the most important woman's appearance is not a word, isn't it strange? Isn't it more unconvincing for poets to drown their sorrows in wine?

The first four sentences are all about scenery, but they are actually about women. The poets' behaviors and feelings in the last four sentences completely conform to the conventional structure of the eight-sentence poem and the theme. Moreover, in my opinion, this woman is by no means a "lover" that Yan Shu used to get along with, but just an "affair" (amazing encounter) on a mountaineering trip, and "a passing of this life after looking back 500 times in previous lives"! It was the moment when the woman accidentally opened the curtain on the car that Yan Shu caught a glimpse of her beauty and fell in love at first sight. It is precisely because time is short that this amazing glance can only leave this "hazy beauty"!

I'll never see the beautiful car she was riding in again, and her whereabouts are as unknown as Wushan Goddess. She is as beautiful as the moonlight shining on the pear flowers in the courtyard, and as gentle as the breeze blowing the catkins by the pond.
