Shuntaro Tanikawa (193 1-) is a famous contemporary Japanese poet, playwright and translator. Graduated from Mo Lifeng Tama University in Tokyo. Father Tanigawa Tetsuo is a famous contemporary Japanese philosopher and literary theorist. At the age of 17 (1June, 952), he published his first collection of poems, Solitude of Three Billion Light-years, and later published more than 70 poems including 62 Sonnets.

Life, life and humanity are the themes of Shuntaro Tanikawa's writing. His poems are concise, clean and pure in language, especially the Zen and ethereal in recent years, revealing a perceptual oriental wisdom. It is unique among the Japanese contemporary poets who rose after the war and is known as the standard-bearer of modern Japanese poetry. This collection of poems is selected and translated from dozens of poems published in Shuntaro Tanikawa. Shuntaro Tanikawa's two poems have also been completely translated, one is definition and the other is minimalism.
