Lillian Karen [Germany]
The forest is listening.
Come on, my girl,
Before a new day comes,
The gurgling sound of the spring has not yet reached its peak.
Come on, come on,
My dear girl,
Take advantage of this deep and lonely fear
There is no time to be blown away by the wind.
The treetops are exposed.
Dawn in the morning.
Ah, don't delay, my lovely little girl,
Don't keep me waiting too long.
The sun won,
She finally meekly
Smile and throw yourself into my arms.
Larks fly into the sky.
(translated by Qian Chunkun)
Detlef von Lillianklen (1844 ~ 1909) is one of the most important German impressionist painters. He was born in a declining aristocratic family and used to be a Prussian officer. After retirement, he began to devote himself to literary creation at 1887. Besides poetry, he also wrote novels and plays, but his achievements were not as good as poetry. Motherland, war, nature and love are the basic themes of his poems, and death is also an important content. Influenced by the "sadness at the end of the century", his works are stained with sadness and show pessimism.
You've kept me waiting too long. It's a love poem written by the impressionist Lillian. From the content point of view, the poet did not focus on expressing the essence of love, but grasped the lover's tryst, and focused on describing a series of instantaneous psychological feelings of men who went to the appointment in advance, revealing an unspeakable desire for love and affection.
In the first paragraph of the poem, the poet, through the visual impression of "the forest is eavesdropping", sets off the nervous, flustered and anxious mood and atmosphere of the man who expects his lover to come to tryst. Impressionism pays special attention to the wording between the lines and the sound effects between the lines. Inaudible and audible sounds, such as "daytime noise" and "spring gurgling sound", are either amplified or attenuated, and also play a role in rendering emotions and atmosphere with sound. The second paragraph is about another feeling of a man on a date. When you are in a hurry, you feel that time is hard to pass, so "terror" attacks your heart. This horror, on the one hand, is what he fears, because it is deep and lonely; On the other hand, because it can cover up the worldly noise, it is what he longs for. In the third paragraph, with the arrival of the "dawn at the top of the tree", the expectation of meeting with my lover also reveals the clue of hope, and the complicated mood gradually tends to be peaceful, and the heart is filled with perceptible joy. The last paragraph and the fourth paragraph of the poem feel like the rising sun, and the long-awaited lover finally "falls into my arms". At this moment, "larks fly to the sky", the leisurely impression at this moment is a materialization of heartfelt happiness. Finally, I feel quiet and open-minded.
This poem is very impressive. From the darkness before dawn to the first light of dawn and even the rising of the sun, the psychological changes of men during dating are very subtle. "Come on, my girl"-"Come on, come on, my dear girl"-"Oh, don't delay any longer, my lovely little girl"-"She finally threw herself into my arms meekly/smiling". The contrast between her lover's different calls and instant impressions shows that the date is excited, anxious and relieved about the man. Much like a suspense drama, the tension of the poet's rendering was not released until after * * *. Therefore, reading this poem by Lillian Kelon not only makes us feel another kind of love, but also makes us appreciate the impressionist poet's mastery of language.
