1909, Feng Ru, the earliest plane designer and pilot in China, flew his own plane on Piedmont Mountain near Oakland, USA. His first flight was very successful. The altitude of the plane is 2 10 m, the speed is per hour 105 km, and the flight distance along the coastal bay is 32 km. This is the first time for China people to fly a homemade plane into the blue sky.
19 1 1 February, Feng Ru declined the invitation of the United States and returned home with two planes and two assistants, and put forward the idea of "saving the country by aviation". However, Feng Ru, who was extremely jealous, was killed in an air show in Tang Yan on August 25th, 2002 at the age of 28. Later, Feng Ru was posthumously awarded by Yuan Shikai as Major General of the Army, and was buried in the tomb of seventy-two martyrs in Huanghuagang, Guangzhou.
Character evaluation:
It is easy to be a martyr in society, but it is especially difficult to be a martyr in craftsmanship. A great man can be buried in Qinghai-Tibet when he falls off the plane in an instant. The success of one thing is commendable, and the failure of one thing is also gratifying. If you stay and practice for a thousand years, you will see the autumn wind crying again.
On May 25, 2009, General Xu qiliang, then commander of the Air Force, said in his speech at the centenary meeting of China Airlines and the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Air Force that it was well-deserved to award the title of "Father of China Aviation" to Feng Ru, a great patriot and pioneer of China aviation industry.
