Some people think that the theme of Haiyun is elegant intimidation. If intimidation or warning is necessary, it is only a warning to credulous people, a warning to waverers, and a warning to idealists who are not strong enough to try to become trendsetters. Perhaps we can draw a positive meaning from it: Haiyun objectively reminds people not to be too romantic and unrealistic, not to be credulous, not to see only the romantic and idealistic side of life, not to see the ruthless and dangerous side of life, not to see the contrast of realistic forces, but to act only by enthusiasm and willfulness.
"Hai Yun" smacks of "sad drama". Xu Zhimo seems a little indifferent to life, because he wrote a tragedy with such a poetic topic as "Haiyun", which is somewhat ironic. He seems to want to ridicule those who pursue the sea cloud but don't know the danger of the sea. Here, his irresponsibility to the sea has been helpless, but after all, he raised the danger of the sea, while others are still there to cherish the sea with their lives, which is his sorrow. Xu Zhimo may want to say, are you going to exercise in the wind and waves? But big waves are irresponsible. Does the poet regret, lament and deny the girl's behavior in his poems, or praise and affirm it?
If it is a simple compliment, it is obviously wrong. Hai Yun is obviously saturated with the tone of tragedy and the atmosphere of lamentation. However, if it is only regret and negation, and it is asserted that the poet holds a negative attitude towards the girl's courage and pursuit of ideals, then it is obviously wrong to interpret Hai Yun as a satire. The girl image is the early Xu Zhimo himself, Xu Zhimo with romantic ideals. This very poetic life, he is naturally nostalgic.
The person who called the girl home in Hai Yun was also Xu Zhimo, who later wanted to be a mediocre person. In this way, the question and answer in the poem is between two Xu Zhimo, one is Xu Zhimo who pursues romantic ideals, and the other is Xu Zhimo who is tired, frustrated and desperate in the pursuit, so he wants to be a mediocre person. The girl who deviates from her family, despises ordinary happiness and falls in love with the sea like a madman is Xu Zhimo; It is Xu Zhimo who calls the girl back to a warm and comfortable home again and again, fearing the wind and rain and lamenting her fate. This is Xu Zhimo talking to himself, fighting with himself.
After all, Xu Zhimo's attitude towards the girl in Hai Yun is actually somewhat confused, confused and contradictory. He regrets and praises; Sigh and praise; There are both negation and affirmation, but from the tone and atmosphere of the whole poem, it focuses on regret in confusion, lament in confusion and negation in contradiction. After all, "Hai Yun" is a romantic song of China bourgeoisie, and also a sad song of romantic hipsters.
