Shows the interest in life of minority children. Wu Ran's original name is Wu Xingran. Born in 1946 in Xuanwei City, Yunnan Province. After graduating from high school, he worked as a worker and a primary school teacher. Later he was transferred to the editor of "Spring City Evening News", and since 1985 he has been the editor-in-chief of the newspaper's "Little Orange Lantern" children's supplement. The book "Birds Are Singing" selects more than fifty poems written by Wu Ran, divided into three series: "Songs in the Flower Basket", "Caixia Sing" and "Fragrant Land". These works were all drawn by Wu Ran in the beautiful and colorful Yunnan. The poems are full of local characteristics of Yunnan and show the life interests of ethnic minority children.
