Translation:
At the end of the year, it was cold, the winter snow melted, and the warm spring breeze seemed to blow into the palace. Huge red candles are lit, which look like clusters of flowers from a distance. The monarch and his subjects enjoyed feasting and drinking, enjoying a wonderful evening, welcoming the new year, resigning the old year and singing and dancing all night.

During the Zhenguan period, the country was rich and strong. On New Year's Eve, there was a scene of prosperity inside and outside the palace. Emperor Taizong wrote this poem for this purpose.

This poem uses a series of dynamic words, such as Ci, Qu, Dai, Ru, Shu, Jun and so on. , natural and fresh, readable. It belongs to one of the rare good poems in the early Tang Dynasty.
Let's start with two sentences: "The twilight scene is oblique to Fangdian, and the year is gorgeous." Dress Fangdian and Qigong more resplendent with sunset and "years of love", pointing out that the emperor is in the palace on New Year's Eve, suggesting the theme, giving people a magnificent feeling.
Third, four sentences, "Cold words winter snow, warm with spring breeze." The first couplet points out that New Year's Eve is the time when winter and spring alternate-the ice and snow melt and the winter is over; Heating began, and warm spring came. Here, the poet gives people warm pleasure from the perspective of seasonal changes, brewing a warm and happy holiday atmosphere.
Fifth, six sentences, "Step by step, use a roll of flowers and a candle red." Write a sentence about the blooming and fragrance of plum blossoms. Further rendering the spring. The antithesis is closely connected with the first couplet, which highlights the scene of observing the old age in the palace: inside and outside the palace, decorated with colored lights, colorful and brilliant; Place offerings, offer sacrifices to the gods and ancestors, and keep the year. The last two sentences are "* * * New Year, welcome the new year all night." Keeping close to "observing the old age", from the palace to the human world, by extension, summed up the common phenomenon of national celebration, one-night marriage, leaving the old year and welcoming the new year, thus enriching the warm atmosphere of observing the old age in the palace.
