Comments on Sichuan Poets' Poetry (IV)

Xiangyixian:

Xiangyixian: Wanyuan, Sichuan, poet, professor of Sichuan University. He has a variety of poems and works, and has won many poems and academic awards. At the end of 1980s, he and his colleagues successively founded such folk poetry periodicals as Dynasty, Red Flag and Wang Xiang. Xiangyixian's poems have a kind of magic, even he can't figure out what it is. It has always attracted you deeply, waiting for you to read it. I think there are the following points: First, this magic is a reading shock brought by the unfamiliarity of the poet's writing, including the use of writing themes and skills. For example, a poem: The diamond knife in your hand/just a slight scratch/invisible wound/slender and deep/like a gold chip/suddenly embedded in your fingertips/you feel so clear/pain is a word/and blood is meaningless "glass cutter" (excerpt). This kind of writing can be said to be unprecedented, and it can also be said to be anti-lyric or other lyric ways. It is another creation of poetry writing, including the choice of objects and images, which are relatively avant-garde. Many readers are still stuck in the past or traditional poetry aesthetics, so reading such poems is almost the fate of avant-garde poetry. Second, the seemingly simple but profound poetic style. Xiangyixian's poems seem very simple and easy to understand, and even tend to be colloquial in the use of language. In fact, as long as we read deeply, we will know that there is almost a profound problem in his simple poetic style, which gradually induces readers to understand everything and the meaning of life. In addition, cold, chilly, sharp as a knife, is also a major feature of his poetry, poetic style. In addition, there is no scenery to see/willow smoke in April, fire in July/adding two souls/a pile of black coal and half a poem/rubbing the lost fingers of Guangling San/holding a sledgehammer, throwing it down/smashing the clear sky like thunder/boring steel dragons and snakes dancing "The Blacksmith of Liu Xia" (excerpt).

Hak-Rim Paek:

Hak-Rim Paek's poems are quiet, in line with his inner world, and always keep a necessary distance from the poetic world, which makes his poems more abundant and have the length of life. From the poem, we can see that the poet doesn't like excitement and is immersed in his own poetic world, which makes the poet appreciate some subtle things better than many writers, such as the time alone, the questioning of life, the thinking of time and so on. As follows: Autumn travel is suitable for a person to travel/because flying has an accurate height/and a thin body is as thin as an ethereal cloud. When I opened the inner wing/like an a /DM sheet with flight safety instructions, the rain in September was passing through the oval side window of the plane, low-key, soothing and dense/bringing a prelude to a distant banquet. Fortunately/I didn't bring sadness, the book is on the road/Hak-Rim Paek's poems are almost short poems, and there are few long poems/time to think about "flying poems". Only a poet with delicate mind and careful observation can write such a poem with texture. In a sense, writing poetry is talking to yourself. Only by knowing yourself can you write excellent works.
