In less than forty years of romanticism, a Scottish farmer Burns, a London printmaker Blake, two "lake poets" Wordsworth and Coleridge appeared in England, as well as the younger generation: Baron Byron, Shelley, a rich boy, and Keats, an assistant surgeon. Together, they pushed English poetry to the peak of world literature, and their immortal chapters have been loved and recited by people so far.
In addition to these energetic poets, we should also remember Jane Austen, a woman writer, and her masterpieces handed down from generation to generation.
