I wander alone, like a cloud.

I Roam Alone, Like a Cloud is a poem written by the English poet william wordsworth (1770 ~ 1850). Wordsworth, samuel taylor coleridge and robert southey are all called "Lake Poets". They are also the earliest romantic writers in English literature.

They love nature, describe rural life under patriarchal clan system, and hate capitalist urban civilization and cold money relations. They lived in seclusion in Lake Cumberland and Lake Grassmill, hence the name "lake poets". Wordsworth was appointed "Poet Laureate" on 1843. However, throughout his life, his poetic achievements are remarkable, and he is worthy of being a great man after Shakespeare and Milton.

This poem was written by the poet shortly after his return from France. The poet went to France with a desire for freedom and took part in some revolutionary activities. However, the French Revolution did not bring the expected results, followed by chaos. You can imagine the poet's disappointment and blow. Later, with the help of friends and sisters, it was difficult for him to recover. This poem was written shortly after the poet calmed down.

At the beginning of the poem, the poet compares himself to a lonely cloud, floating alone in the high sky. The arrogant poet found a large area of golden daffodils, which blossomed happily everywhere. In the poet's mind, narcissus is no longer a plant, but a symbol, representing a soul and a spirit.
