Lei Zhen, a poet in the Southern Song Dynasty, was born and died in an unknown year. He is from Meizhou (now Meishan, Sichuan) and Jiading, Song Ningzong. However, some people say that he was a native of Nanchang (now Jiangxi) and was a scholar in the first year of Song Duzong Xianchun (1265). The work "Night in the Country" was selected as a fifth-grade Chinese textbook by the Ministry. For his poems, see Volume 74 of History of Song Dynasty.
