Huang Tingjian, a poet in the Northern Song Dynasty, formed his own poetry creation thought in his poetry creation practice. In the party struggle at that time, he saw the atmosphere of governing politics with poetry, opposed the practice of directly comparing poetry with current affairs, and advocated the relative independence of poetry.
In his creation, he gave up the tradition of satirizing poetry since Bai Juyi and focused on showing his spiritual world. At the same time, some people oppose the indulgence of emotion in poetry, and think that the fundamental purpose of poetry writing should be "nourishing the heart and governing the nature"
For example, his poem "Deng Kuaige", "Wan Li returned to the boat to play the flute, and this heart and alliance", shows the poet's happy mood of getting rid of vulgar things and returning to his true self in watching nature. It can be seen from the mandibular joint that the poet's mood is very indifferent and peaceful, showing the inner world of a scholar-bureaucrat who is far away from fashion and detached from things.
Because Huang's poems deliberately exclude creative themes that reflect people's livelihood and discuss current politics, his poetic world is greatly limited, and the poet feels that the poet deliberately avoids suppressing his true feelings. His achievements in poetry were greatly reduced.
Huang Tingjian's poetic style was peculiar and abrupt, which influenced Su Shi at that time. Together with Chen Shidao, he founded the most influential "Jiangxi Poetry School" in Song Dynasty.
