In her own words, it is to collect some "fragmentary ideas" into a collection. Generally speaking, they include three aspects.
The first is to praise and praise maternal love and innocence. Bing Xin, the first famous female writer in the history of modern literature in China, was famous for advocating "the philosophy of love" as soon as she entered the literary world. And maternal love is the fundamental starting point of "the philosophy of love". She believes that maternal love is the source of all things and the fundamental driving force for the world to move towards light. In "Stars" and "Spring Water", she regards maternal love as the noblest and most beautiful thing, and praises it repeatedly, which profoundly shows the author's attachment and love for her mother, and also makes me feel the irreplaceable position of her mother in the author's heart.
The second is the worship and praise of nature. In Bing Xin's view, human beings come from and belong to nature and should be harmonious.
The third is the feeling and thinking about life.
In art, "Stars" and "Spring Water" both take the advantages of China's classical poems and Tagore's philosophical poems, and are good at capturing instant inspiration and writing inner feelings and thoughts in a few words, with short and meaningful forms. Especially in language, it is fresh and elegant, crystal-clear and beautiful, clear and fluent, and has unique artistic charm.
Therefore, it is also called "star grid, spring water body" by Mao Dun.
