Partridge——Zheng Gu

Partridge - Zheng Gu

Warm play, smoke, Wu, brocade and wings are all in order, and the quality should be close to that of the pheasant.

The green grass passes by the lake in the dusk of rain, and the flowers fall and sing in the Huangling Temple.

When a wanderer first hears that Zheng’s sleeves are wet, a beautiful woman sings with her green eyebrows low.

Calling each other by the Xiangjiang River, the bitter bamboo bushes are deep in the spring sun.

The first two sentences are actually about partridges, saying that the spring is warm and the brocade wings are flying together, which is quite similar to the literary talent of pheasants. Three or four sentences are chanted in vain, focusing on the charm. Partridges are mostly found in Xiangchu. By the Green Grass Lake, in the Huangling Temple, in ancient and vast places, when it rains and the flowers fall, there will be three or two partridges, their mournful cries filling the air. Therefore, on the fifth and sixth day, a wanderer hears the sound, and his blue shirt is wet with tears, and the beautiful lady pats her, while the green daisy is depressed. The last sentence says that spring has reached the end of the Xiangjiang River, and the setting sun is calling, so it is just called "Ending".

Cui Jue got his name from the Yuanyang poem and was called Cui Yuanyang. Zhenggu is named after the partridge poem, and is called Zheng Partridge. Therefore, the two poems are written in succession. Cui wrote about his emotions, Zheng wrote about his charm, and each reached a wonderful state. Only Cui's poems are complete in style. Although Zheng Duguan was named Cui Shang, the last four sentences of this poem seem to be simple and easy, which is inferior to Cui's poems. If Li Qunyu's poem "Partridge" is dedicated to its sound, it is inferior to Zheng Zuo's. Li Bai's poem "Yue Zhong": The palace maids fill the spring palace like flowers, but so far only partridges are flying. Zheng Gu's poem "Gift to the Singer": There are also guests from the south of the Yangtze River sitting here, so don't sing partridges to the spring breeze. Because of its sad and moving sound, it makes people nostalgic for the past and homesickness, which can easily lead to melancholy.
